Back after a years break. Jane is the perfect hostess goes over & above to make your stay comfortable & enjoyable. House is spotless, comfortable & relaxing. Breakfast is just perfect & sets you up for the day freshly cooked. A piece of flapjack on your return each evening. We will return to Hill Crest.

From the moment we walked through the door, Jane was so welcoming and friendly! We immediately noticed how immaculate the house was and it felt so homely. Jane showed us to our room, we had the attic room and it was spacious and exceptionally presented. I had some special requests for the room and Jane went above and beyond to meet the requests and made it so special for us. Once we had settled in, we were shown to the lounge and had tea and freshly baked scones, the best scones ever! The lounge had a calming atmosphere and the conservatory used for breakfast was joined on to it. It was lovely to chat to Jane throughout our stay, very attentive and friendly but not overbearing. She has a vast knowledge of the area and some great recommendations of places to go and things to do during our stay. She also explained how to arrange breakfast etc and it was such an easy process. We ordered breakfast the evening before, by text so no need to leave the room. Jane remembered what we liked to drink in a morning and how we liked the food cooked. Two mornings we had cooked breakfasts which were delicious! The good quality meat really made a difference. On the last morning we had croissants which were fresh and warm. At breakfast there was orange juice and a selection of sauces and jams. The dining area was clean and it overlooked the garden. The room was straightened up every day and some freshly made flapjack left in there for us. The room had a kettle and a mini fridge which was nice for us tea lovers! The tea and coffee was replenished every day. The room also had a hair dryer, robes, slippers, towels and flannels. There were also other small amenities such as body wash, hand cream, hand wash and cotton pads and cotton buds. We can’t thank Jane enough for our stay and how welcome we were made to feel! The house is in a nice area just south of the lake. Bowness on Windermere was only around 15-20 minutes away by car and south lakes zoo was roughly the same. We will definitely be returning here!

We treated ourselves to a breakaway, celebrating our wedding anniversary. Staying at the Hill Crest was the best decision we have ever made. Jane is a superb host, going the extra mile for her guests, cooking the most wonderful breakfasts and is always ready to suggest special excursions. The facilties are top notch, the daily treats delicious and a nice surprise. We can wholeheartefly recommend this wonderful establishment. Even the friendly and helpful handyman is an asset to Jane's lovely place. We will surely return as many times as we possibly can. Jack & Myra

Hill Crest is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast, with luxury facilities. The rooms are immaculate, spacious and beautifully presented with a scone and tea on arrival! Views out over the hills and across the valley are wonderful. Jane is a fantastic host, very generous, helpful and knowledgeable. She is happy to give you local information and suggestions for your stay. The breakfast is first rate and you can choose a variety of options to set you up for the day. I used public transport and there is a bus stop just 5 minutes away so it's easy to get to Windermere and beyond. There are also lots of good walks on your doorstep, as well as the Haverthwaite steam train, and Anglers Arms for good pub grub. I cannot rate this B&B highly enough - 5* - I'll be back!! Thank you for a brilliant few days :)

I have left a review on the website but I am unsure if this is visible so have also decided to leave one on here. Just to emphasise how brilliant our stay was whilst on holiday here. Jane was accommodating & friendly from the day I booked (over the telephone) & also provided me with lots of information beforehand when I text her regarding eating out & directions. I honestly can’t fault anything - this hotel / guest house is beautiful & the rooms are comfortable & spotlessly clean (we stayed in the pink room). The breakfasts were cooked to perfection with lots of choice - I particularly recommend the scotch pancakes & bacon! All in all we had a fabulous holiday (despite the weather) & would definitely come back to stay if we visit the Lakes again.

Recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful guest house on the doorstep of lake Windermere, situated in a very nice quiet location that was absolutely perfect for a chill stay with every need taken care of by Jane who couldn’t do anymore for us , room was perfect and very clean and comfortable with breakfast provided which you can pre order , all the main Lake District attractions are close by which makes this location perfect in every way , looking forward to returning In future.
