This review is more about my experience with management and their lack of attention to what was an uninhabitable room. I gave them several opportunities to make it right and they failed miserably. I had stayed here several times before and had good experiences which is why I made a reservation again in June. When I checked in I discovered that the air conditioning wasn’t working properly so I called the front desk. To their credit they sent someone from maintenance right up to address the situation. They changed the unit out and said they would be back in a couple of hours to make sure it was working properly. I had a client dinner that evening and told them I wouldn’t be there but that I appreciated them checking back to make sure the room was cooling down. They said they would come in and check in my absence. I returned about four hours later and the room was not cooler and I promptly called the front desk. They informed me that maintenance had left. I asked if they could switch me to another room and they said that they only had one other room and it had the same issue. I hung up and tried to make the most of the situation and try to go to sleep. It was too hot and impossible to fall to sleep. I called a few other Marriott properties in the area and finally found one with an available room. It was close to 1am at this point and I had an important meeting in the morning. I packed my stuff and went down to the front desk to explain the situation. The night auditor said he understood and made a note to have the front desk manager call me. They never did and proceeded to charge me for the room. I called the following Monday and spoke with the on duty manager. I did not think it was right that they charged me for the room considering my experience but the manager said that only the GM could reverse the charges. I asked her to have them call me and she suggested I leave the GM a voice message. I left a voice message and never received a call back. I called back again a few days and left another message for the GM and never received a call back. Really unfortunate because if they had made the situation right, I would have given them another chance but not now. I will be taking my business elsewhere and telling all of my colleagues to do the same
I am rating this on the management response to my complaint, not the actual hotel stay or even the staff; the staff and the stay were great, during all of our stays. Our complaint comes at the blatant and dismissive behavior of any management staff to contact us regarding our last stay. We have stayed at this location about four times, as my husband is a patient at MD Anderson. On Saturday, 8/5/23 we checked out after being at this hotel for almost two weeks. When we checked out, I had the pleasure of encountering Belsay, who was working the desk, he was very friendly and accommodating during our stay, as was all the other staff, just don't have their names. At the time of checkout, I made a reservation for a room on the lower floor, due to a major surgery my husband underwent and had numerous and large incisions. We arrived on 8/8/23, at approximately 4:55 pm, only to find the room requested, the previous Saturday was not available and the room on the second floor had to be checked to ensure it was ready for check-in. Of course, after traveling for hours and spending hours at MD Anderson, and with my husband's condition, I was highly disappointed and somewhat agitated. We finally get to a room on the second floor and I open the bathroom door and was just overtaken with the smell of smoke that had saturated the entire bathroom, which I guess explained the huge air purifier that was plugged in the wall. I contacted the front desk to report this, and spoke with Jose, as I didn't want to be charged for smoking in what is suppose to be a non-smoking room. Jose came to the room and also agreed the strong odor of smoke inside the bathroom. My husband suffers with asthma, which made the stay very unpleasant, and because we had gotten my husband settled, moving would be too difficult and uncomfortable for him. So, because we were only there for one night, during this stay, we endured the unpleasant smell of smoke. As we were checking out, i again encountered Belsay and again he was very pleasant; I asked was the manager available, the name on the wall showed the manager to be Marisol Rosado, Belsay stated she was at another property. I left my telephone number and asked him to please have her contact me, as I wanted to speak with her about our stay. This request was made Wednesday, 8/9/23; I also contacted some 1-800 number I was given for complaints, but when she answered she stated she was with reservations, but still allegedly took my complaint, which was Friday, 8/10/23. To date, I have not received even an email or any other means of communication from anyone to hear my complaint. I wanted to give the perspective people the opportunity to contact me before doing a public review, I have exceeded giving them the opportunity. Room in 3 Floors, Nice neat clean Shared Area contain complete Kitchen (Refrigerator +Oven +Microwave +Kettle +Toaster +Kitchenware) Plus Sitting Area with library +big size TV +Games +Balcony +Toilet. - STAFF: is originally from Philippines +Help +Map +collect the all Amount before a few days from check in +not 24hr. from 09-18:00 approx. … Its big Disadvantage is the big time difference 4 hr. between Check In & Out from 11-15:00 and there is no Early Check In before 15:00 even there is the availability except after paying 15$ and the same amount paid if you check out after 11:00. And, its big Advantage is 24 hr. Free Open Foods & Beverages (Tea +Coffee +Chocolate +powder Milk & Toast +different Cereal +peanut Butter +Nutella +Jam.
The hotel is in a great location. It’s close to everything you need. It’s clean, quiet, and has friendly staff. I will definitely stay here again when I’m back in the Houston area. Bernard was really friendly and kind to everyone he encountered.
JjennifermN1408IFI travel frequently for pleasure and work. The staff here are so friendly and welcoming. I genuinely felt they went out of their way to make my stay the best it could be. My dog traveled with me and he got spoiled too by the staff. Will be back again soon. This will always be my first choice for stays in Houston. The staff at this hotel are top notch! Thank you all for that, you made this visit stand out from other properties. Ross and I can't wait to visit again soon!
Wanted a close getaway for the night someplace to relax with a pool, I was not disappointed at all!! Had a great time the room was clean and nice and cool when we checked in, it also had a nice little fridge and microwave ❤️we headed straight for the pool, and enjoyed the pool the entire evening!! It was amazing ❤️ The front desk hostess Jessica was amazing, when I arrived she was helping multiple guests with their needs and she was still able to welcome me in with my needs as well...she was great!!! I will definitely return next time I need a stay away ❤️ and the food trucks near by were amazing as well, we didn't have to drive to go anywhere, and that's just what we were looking for. Very satisfied 😊
The manager Maria at this location is absolutely horrible and should be removed immediately. This lady called me to ask me about a review I left, I explained why I left the review she proceed to talk over me & address what guest stated to her to make speak to them rudely and that she never talked to me. I then advised if you are a leader no matter what ppl say to you, you should never act in that manner. She then talked over me again. I asked her could I finish she continued and stated I’m on a do not rent list due to her rudeness and the lack of her staff processing my reservation correctly. Her, the housekeepers and her staff is absolutely rude and should be replaced immediately. She is the reason this hotel is going down and the reviews are ridiculous. The only person who is professional is Nesha!
