Montecarmo12 - Design Boutique Hotel

Such an amazing stay at Montecarmo12! Location is superb, laying in a quiet street far from hectic tourist area. But instead close to all restaurants and bars just around the corner. Our room was spacious and cosy, the breakfast included was excellent. The day before you choose in the menu what you would like to be served at breakfast. We choose to sit in front of the chefs making the breakfast in front of you - very nice as you could get to know the people and get some tips for your stay in Lisbon. Service was great with that little extra and we enjoyed staying at a hotel with not so many rooms. Nothing to complain on! We would choose to stay at Montecarmo12 again!

We have stayed at Montecarmo 12 many times and recommend it to many people. It has always been wonderful however we stayed last night and it was not great. It is a very small hotel. About 10 rooms. Last night I think we may have been the only guests as we went to breakfast and the kitchen and dining room were closed Wagner, the chef came to our rescue and put together a small breakfast for us. He was lovely but did not know there were any guests. We had a small, quick breakfast, not the lovely, relaxed breakfast we always enjoy at Montecarmo. Without Wagner help, we would have left very unimpressed huge praise to Wagner. We got a call from management while eating breakfast that they would not be serving breakfast today and they would refund our breakfast cost. Very unprofessional.

We landed in Lisbon and headed straight to Montecarmo 12, hoping that our room was ready. It was, and we immediately fell in love with the property and the terrific team: Erica, Adriana, and Chef Wagner were all so welcoming and professional. The room was beautiful: minimalist but with great warmth, floor to ceiling windows with big classic shutters, and a wonderful bed with the comfiest linens and pillows. We didn't take full advantage of the little outdoor patio in the back (next time!) but we did take advantage of the great neighbourhood, with the botanical gardens and Pica Pau right up the street, a beautiful park, and the best coffee in town at Dramatico a quick (though steep) 10 minute walk away. The architectural design by Mateus was really showcased in the beige marble bathroom, with its oval tub, great shower, and two deep sinks. We also loved the amenities -- the bar soap, shampoo, and conditioner were very eco-friendly. Breakfasts were generous and delicious; we were able to sit in the kitchen both days and enjoyed Chef's amazing avocado toast and eggs, the fresh orange juice, and the company of fellow guests.

We had a short but delightful stay. The room was bright, modern, and had every amenity we could want. The staff was helpful with recommendations about anything we asked about. The breakfasts were freshly prepared per our order and excellent. Breakfast service can be a bit slow at times, but who cares, we’re on vacation!

We had a wonderful stay. Great location, gorgeous rooms (though would be nice to have clipboard or shelf to unpack clothes), amazing breakfast and the staff were wonderful. Very helpful.

Hotel is in a great location in Principe Real. Barbara’s level of customer service was beyond exceptional, she was absolutely amazing!

This is a brand new small hotel in a renovated beautiful property in the Principe Real area of Lisbon. The rooms have a minimalist elegant modern design. The chef prepares an excellent breakfast beautifully presented in the dine in kitchen. The neighbourhood is quiet and residential but walking distance from downtown Lisbon and easily accessible with the local tram as well. This hotel combines quality, elegance and convenience. The staff is welcoming and very friendly. Highly recommended for anybody planning a city trip to Lisbon.
