This hotel is directly on the malecon, good location. But the rest was pretty poor. The rooms are extremely dated.Old furniture, old decor, fitness center closed, no fridge and our reservation stated these amenities were included! Also a missing ceiling fan. I would not return . Do not be fooled by the pictures. Make sure to see a room before committing to this hotel. We had a real surprise.
The location is great, the pool area is very nice, and the restaurant ”condimento” is great during the breakfast buffet. However, I would not recommend the hotel for the following reasons: -My room was ugly, dated, and in bad condition. Additionally, there were bugs in the ceiling. -The hallways in the hotel smelled bad due to the garbage being stored outside on the bottom floor (I have pictures) and the open property next door having a garbage disposal area right next to Emporio hotel. -The valet parking took too long to bring vehicles to customers. -The bar was attended by young people unaware of customer service, the waiters and bartenders needed to be trained. Some waiters would charge you for drinks before delivering, and others would not. Most customers had to go to the bar because waiters did not approach anybody for orders or drinks. Lastly, the bartenders would play music randomly and stop/interrupt the songs if they did not like it, making it very annoying. -It was very inconvenient not being able to bring coffee, water, or food to my hotel room. I recommend the hotel for the breakfast buffet. It has a great view, and the service during breakfast was good!
Arrived for my super-short stay of one night and was greeted first by a great bellboy, who took my bags as I exited my taxi. Juan Carlo waited while I checked in and then escorted me to my room with my bags. I arrived late afternoon for just the short stay, so went only to the beach and walked around there. Very lively and cheerful, with banda music playing for families. I sat at the beach grill, enjoying a sunset, Pacifico and some great food - shrimp ceviche, tortilla soup and guacamole - so amazing. The server, Charlie, was attentive, charming and very fast. The room was quite nice. Very clean, spacious and comfortable. The bed felt great, not too hard. The hotel wasn't noisy, but the street noise was - not the issue of the hotel. We are close to Valentino's Disco and the pulmonias, with music and lights, were constant up and down the street. I, personally, was not disturbed, as it is part of the culture in Mazatlan! Other quick notes - wifi worked great, shower and water pressure was super, A/C was consistent and staff were pleasant. A great choice for my next visit!
Lidia Martínez the best customer service during my visit. Lidia was able to convince to stay at my current hotel for more night until she was able to accommodate me at the Marriot. My stay was worth it because of the hotel amenities and people like Lidia Martinez. I will be happy to return to Marriot Mazatlan.
The main needs of this vacation were beach, sand, pool, drinks, food. This fit the bill as the cheapest, direct flight for both my wife and I from BC and my brother and his wife from SK. A RIU this resort is NOT but we knew that going in. We knew the food would not be great, it isn't in the buffet. It's adequate for one visit maybe two but after that too limited and too repetitive. We chose instead to visit one of the smaller restaurants and either the Luna, Pacific Tower or Star Palace from breakfasts and select one of the dinner options each evening. Through that dining experience which was good we met Ramon. What an exceptionally pleasant, knowledgeable, hardworking and catering man. We asked to use the one dining room that was closed to play cards in. It was hard to find a quiet place to get away for that kind of activity. He said absolutely and turned the lights on for us and even asked us what we would like to drink. He even made the drinks, which were all exceptional, himself. Each evening then we asked for dinner that would take us to Ramon. He gave us special treatment and made us very welcome each evening for dinner and our card games. He served us drinks through the evening even while he was managing the dinners. The last evening he made me a dirty martini that was very excellent. Four olives!! If we were to decide to go here again we would choose the Luna Palace to stay in as it is a bit more laid back, nice pool and quieter. Not fault of the hotel but bands play on the beach and are extremely loud. The hotel was also fully booked with local families and associations or teams so very busy. We never were able to use the main pool but the Pacific pool was a good alternative and we stayed on the beach under a Palapa.

From the outstanding golf course and it's service personel to the villas and the comfortable rooms and great food.everthing was great. I never heard one negative comment from any of our group. Thank you to all at EDM for making our vacation great
We choose to stay at the Posada Freeman in the historic center for two reasons, proximity to the historic center and second the view from this hotel is AMAZING. The hotel staff were wonderful. We booked two king bedrooms that had views of the ocean and the historic center. This hotel is walking distance to everything in the historic center and el Centro with great restaurants and boutique shops.
Hotel bien ubicado, lo estaban remodelando, habitaciones justas, alberca infinito, no hay servicio de bar en la alberca, hay acceso directo a la playa por túnel que pasa por debajo de la avenida,
MmariogM6829EGSecond time I’ve stayed at this hotel and I came back because it’s the one I’ve enjoyed the most. Last time I was given one of the newly remodeled rooms in the interior part of the property and it was great. This year I was given one of the older rooms adjacent to the main boulevard and the noise at night specially in the weekend where cars and RAZRS cruise up and down the blvd with the music at full blast is hard to sleep with. Service from the staff has always been excellent. So like I said it’s a great location to enjoy a vacation just make sure to get one of the new rooms or bring your earplugs and a white noise machine so you can sleep.
Older resort, but clean had everything we needed. beach is very nice, not to many people, except on Cruise Ship days (cruise ship passengers are welcome here) very busy on these days. Staff - my experience mostly good, except a security guard Damien.. he came at us very angry waving his hands yelling at us, he was speaking in spanish (i know its the language there) but i had no idea what he was yelling about. As luck has it a lady and her husband helped with translation. The issue was my pool bag was open and laying on top of my stuff was a bag of nachoes (apparently not allowed on pool deck, i was never told this when checked in or any time during my stay) We were in hot tub when this all started, no where near my bag, and no one was eating the nachoes. we had just came up from the beach. My frustration, Why was Damien looking in my bag in the first place? Why did he not get a staff member that i could communicate with and simply tell us that nachoes was not allowed on pool deck? Why did he get so angry and make me feel like i had done something criminal? I did go to front desk and report, someone did talk to me and assure me that this would not happen again, and it didnt. The front desk did also tell me that the next morning i would get a call from the manager, but that did not happen. Damien ignored me for the rest of our stay. I am not a rule breaker, and i am not a complainer but this did have an impact on the rest of my stay, i was on edge and nervous that he would approach me in this manner again. The rest of the staff were kind. Location of hotel in golden zone would be hard to beat, you are right in the center of all resturants, and entertainment. Yes i would return Front desk should give all guests at check in a list of the rules.
When we arrived they couldn’t find our reservation. Finally after 15 minutes they find it. We ask for towels to use at the pool. They say they didn’t have any but someone would bring them to our room. We get to the room that was supposed to have one king or two queens. It had one Queen. Very small room. Hard mattress. My arms kept falling asleep. I only wish the rest of me could have done the same. Two sheets, top and bottom. No blanket. It had an ocean view however the balcony door stuck so badly it took all my husbands muscles to open. No lock on the door either. We went for supper, when we got back still no pool towels. So I decide to have a shower and realize there were no towels at all. Nothing. So my husband calls. They say they will bring some. I wait. And wait. I go back downstairs and tell the man at the desk I need two towels. He opens the cupboard, searches through a stack of towels and hands me one bath towel and two hand towels. No I say I need dos grande. Nope. He say no we no have. Not sure why I couldn’t have one out of the stack of towels that were there. They couldn’t be pool towels because he looked through them earlier when we checked in and asked then for pool towels, just as it said to do on the information page they gave us. I guess maybe they were thursdays towels only and we came in on Wednesday… who knows. Anyways with all that and the elevator that was in need of repair, (it was loud and out of balance and rubbed on something when you rode up or down) and the mold on the bathroom floor it is not worth the money at all.
