Galleria Altido

TO BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS. I made the mistake of renting for a week an apar**ent by the Duomo managed by Altido. The place was simply not liveable: it had extensive water damage that had broken the floor making it unsafe to walk on due to protruding nails and splinters; due to the flooding all curtains had been removed, hence one had no privacy (despite overlooking a busy street) nor protection from the morning sun; the wooden blinds were broken and unsafe to use; due to the broken floor one could not even close the bedroom door; and let me add that the apar**ent overall was in a dismal state - nothing to do with the sleek pictures of their advertisement. I reported the issue as soon as I checked in and was told that they would do remedial actions. After 3 days of no action I gave up on them and moved to a nice boutique hotel. The apar**ent should have not been on the market: would have not satisfied minimal healthy and safety requirements.

Easy to find, great location on the edge of the Galleria. Plenty of places to eat and drink close by covering all budgets. Large room with fantastic air con, clean and tidy, TCMF, toiletries, slippers and free soft drink in mini bar. Did have issues with the access key as it is electronic on your smartphone, ours didn’t work properly for the first 24 hrs. As this needed to access the building, floor and room this could of been problematic as reception are only on site 10am-6pm. The building is not a hotel and is shared with other tennants on other floors. Therefore the lift is tiny and stairwell is grotty but you are paying for the location you are in the Duomo.

The room was beautiful, very clean, and secure. Check in was pretty seamless and it has a great location. Unfortunately, the AC in the room was broken. We immediately called the host and explained what was happening. We were able to confirm that it was blowing air with the fan, but the air wasn't being cooled. He explained that the temperature only goes down to 20 degrees Celsius, even if you have it set on 16. The light also must be blinking green for the AC to work properly, and it was. He said that no one else has reported any issues and there wasn't anything he could do this late in the day. He also said they didn't have any other rooms available for us to check into. We agreed that we'd give the room and hour or so to cool down and I would text him if it never did. Two hours later I texted him and let him know that the room wasn't cooling down. We tried opening the windows, even though there was a concert with 5000 people happening in the piazza del duomo about 100 yards from our window. It was actually cooler outside than it was in the room, and my phone was telling me that it was 78 degrees Fahrenheit outside. The host never responded and we tried to sleep. I probably only slept for about 2 hours that night because I was completely drenched in sweat. The fan continued to blow warm air and we had the windows open the entire night. At one point I had to go and take a cold shower just to rinse the sweat off and try to cool down. When I got back in bed the sheets were completely soaked with sweat. We ended up leaving the hotel around 6am to check into another one that we booked with sykmiles. At this point I asked the host if he could provide us with a refund. We didn't get a response the next day so I followed up again. Two days later the host finally responded to me and said that he'd check and let me know. At first he offered a refund of $100 so I explained that we paid $317 and that I'd really like a refund for the full amount. He then asked me what we spent at the other hotel that we went to and I explained that we had to use skymiles. At this point he stopped responding to me completely.

I donot ussually give a bad review but Avoid this hotel at all cost… I have booked 4 rooms .. The ac not working in all the room and they told us it will be fixed by next day but keep giving excuses. And they do not gv any solution.. giving a fan is not acceptable. Also it is noisy since 3 in the morning.. as there is some construction going on next door and they do not even gv us notice

Stayed the suite for family of 4. Two bedrooms with 2 baths and living. Perfect size and location. Heart of shopping district, ideal for shopping trips and lots of eateries. Checking in and out was a breeze. Nice service staffs and pleasant stay.

Fantastic location! You step out right into the heart of Milan, but you don’t hear the noise of the streets in the rooms which is amazing. The staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The hotel and room had fantastic aircon and kept us cool in the incredibly hot heatwave. The key system worked perfectly and no issues. The pillows were amazing and we had the best sleep in ages here, even considering getting them shipped to the UK. I felt safe and comfortable and would return. I would only wish to have someone on reception a little later and earlier. Check out is at 10 and no one is there till 10.

We stayed in altido for 2 nights - rooms were very nice no doubt but it wasn’t like a hotel it was like air bnb no customer service nothing. Hot water in bathroom only lasted for a while and when we complained about it the manager reacted to it very rudely and never got back to us about this issue. After 7 there’s no one in the hotel to assist you with anything. We emailed and called them but no reply from them. Overall stay was comfortable but no customer service.

While the location of this hotel is fantastic much else is left to be desired. We should have realised there is a noise problem given there are complimentary earplugs supplied. EVERY night/morning from around 1.30am through to 7am we were awoken or had trouble getting to sleep due to the endless noise from various delivery or collection trucks. When we asked the unfriendly porter about this his solution was to use the ear plugs! The reception area and lobby are extremely shabby, not helped by scaffolding and issues with lifts under repair. Rooms are adequate, but the images are misleading giving the impression the the hotel is inside the Galleria. I certainly would not recommend staying at the hotel if you want a peaceful night's sleep.

Location in the center of Milan next to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Very easy online check in and check out system, with access to the the room via online link. Perfect cleaning. Reception staff friendly and efficient. Advantageous prices in relation to the type of structure and location. (In the room: horizontal safe, coffee and ice machine, free drinks and cocktails). We will definitely be back. Congratulations to those who organize and manage the structure.
