Our stay was even beyond the positive expectations we had from reviews and media commentary. From the positive welcome, taking our car away for parking, dealing with luggage, checking, in, escorting us to our room with spectacular views over vineyards and the medieval hill top castle village, we knew within 15 minutes of arrival we had discovered a gem of a hotel and were on a winner! Over 3 nights we had exceptional personal service, wonderful meals, wine and olive oil tours and bought many bottles of what we tried. Waking up to great days was matched by sleep filled nights. A great stay.

One of the most beautiful accommodations we have ever stayed at - the food was delicious / the staff was the MOST attentive!! There were many kid friendly activities and the concierge was always available with multiple suggestions! The options of both the adult and family pools were great for our stay!

I thoroughly enjoyed my one night stay at Sao Lourenco do Borrocal. Upon arrival, we were given a glass of wine and enjoyed some snacks in the bar area. Our room was beautifully done and very clean. It overlooked the vineyards and my husband and I enjoyed a glass of wine at sunset while looking out over the property. We dined at the on-site farm to table restaurant and loved everything that we had. I am a vegetarian and there was plenty for me to choose from. I really enjoyed the breakfast offering that included both a delicious buffet and various menu items. All staff that we encountered during our stay were so personal, helpful, and lovely. I would not hesitate to stay at Sao Lourenco do Borrocal. Such a lovely, peaceful, and romantic place!

This was one of the most incredible, sustainable properties on which we have ever had the pleasure to stay. From the staff, accommodations, hotel property and pleasant surroundings. Impeccable, historical property. We highly recommend experiencing the full property from the incredible pool area, to the hiking/mountain biking to the horseback riding. Enjoy a cocktail class/wine tasting/olive oil tasting.

From the minute you arrive to the minute you depart, there not single thing out of place. It is most luxurious experience without you ever knowing it. Everyone is attentive without being disruptive. The facilities, grounds, estate are incredible (and real). The rooms are beyond outstanding. We will be coming back!

It's our second time in Sao Lourenco do Barrocal and we had an amazing time. This place is a dream, the nicest hotel I have ever been. It's full luxury but discreet, elegant. You feel like home. I was there with my kids and my parents and everybody loved it. I look forward to going back!

Our stay at Sao Lourenco was the absolute highlight of our honeymoon, what a dreamy place. We were thoroughly impressed by the quality of the accommodations, and the friendliness of the staff was truly world-class. It was wonderful to have the mountain bikes at our disposal and return to enjoy the afternoon tea time with delicious cakes. We cannot recommend the picnic option highly enough! The spa treated us to the best massages we've ever experienced, and the stargazing activity at the observatory is a MUST do and so romantic. The pottery class was super fun, and we hope to continue this new hobby. Breakfast was a delightful spread, with the best Eggs Benedict. The quality of both the food and service surpassed anything we experienced during our time in Portugal. While it was too cold to use the pools, the facilities were beautiful! Before departure, our breakfast server, Ines, went above and beyond to share a delightful list of her personal recommendations for exploring her hometown of Lisbon. Her exemplary 5-star hospitality left us with a lasting impression of genuine warmth and care. The same can be said for the rest of the staff from the front desk, gift shop, to the bar! We are looking forward to returning when we have little ones, as they appear to offer a great number of activities for families!

We had a incredible time! The food was exceptional. Our room was spacious, extremely clean, and unique, the staff was super! We loved it and would definitely recommend this special place to others. We went with our 7 year old son. There were lots of families there, lots of great activities for kids.
