Excellent service, convenient location, and extremely helpful staff. I'm in utter love with this place. The décor of the brand-new room was sophisticated and elegant. The hotel employees provided excellent service, which made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. Leila, in particular, was kind and thoughtful in setting everything up for us, and she always comes with a big, genuine smile, which makes us even happier. She went above and above to make my stay as enjoyable as possible by planning my routes to visit various locations on my own, explaining in detail how to get there, and reserving my ticket to the airport. We want to express our gratitude for making our experience spectacular and incredibly memorable. Overall experience can be expressed in 3 syllables Fa Bu Lous, can’t wait to go back.

Pros: - good location, walking distance to Grand World - low price, best if you don’t spend much time at the hotel and mostly out and about - clean and modern decor Cons: - no aircon in corridor and elevator, it can be very uncomfortable to step in the elevator on hot days - no room service, no service at pool area, no option to pay for food and beverage at check out. - minibar is empty, instant coffee and tea bags are available yet no milk. When we requested milk for our cup of tea, the reception staff advised we would need to go to the bar (ground floor) to purchase milk at own cost. Milk is essential and it has always been provided free of charge wherever we’ve been (Bali, Singapore, Australia, etc.) - mid-stay ROOM INSPECTION. This is very UNPLEASANT practice to Westerners and should be stopped. Not sure if this is normal in Vietnam, but it is very displeasing and annoying to us (Australians). We often stayed a few weeks to months in Bali and other Asian countries, we’ve never had room inspection where 2 staff entered our room, 1 of them walked around the room pretending to check the skirting board with a screwdriver while the other was casing the room (it was obvious that they wanted to check to room). - poor English proficiency. Only one reception staff can speak English well, the rest of the staff don’t. My husband was quite frustrated during our stay because he couldn’t communicate with staff. We’ve stayed in Bali and other Asian countries, all of their staff are fluent in English including security and housekeeping staff. - lack of attention to food safety. Signage is very small. No cover when the meals bought outside to the pool area. Food was not kept at optimum temperature can cause bacteria to grow to dangerous levels that can cause illness. - lack of knowledge about beverage. Staff didn’t understand my husband’s order of Bourbon + Cola (very common drinks to Westerners) and advised they don’t have Bourbon. When my husband went to the bar with the staff, there was a big Bourbon bottle sitting on the shelf! - lack of customer service. Staff was not attentive to customers, my husband had to walked to the restaurant to get staff attention when we wanted food and drinks while we were at the pool. Staff should walk around and simply check in with customers. Staff didn’t greet customers when they walk past, again when we were in Bali and other Asian countries, their staff (everyone including housekeeping staff) always said good morning, good afternoon or good evening. - FACIAL BIOMETRICS RECOGNITION was an entry requirement to enter buffet breakfast. This should be disclosed in booking description including third-party websites like Agoda, Booking.com, etc. No information on Facial Biometrics Recognition are found anywhere or has ever been communicated to us prior to checking in. We arrived at the Sheraton mid-July for a six-night stay. The staff promptly took our luggage and had us check in. They asked for our credit card but the English was very weak so we barely understood and eventually worked out with a lot of gesturing with three staff members that it was for damage deposit. This was confusing because we had already been in Vietnam for two weeks and no other high-end hotels, including the ones higher end than Sheraton had asked for damage deposit before. After check-in they asked which ones were our luggages. They took our luggages when we got out of the taxi. We had to look around ourselves and found our luggages in a corner. This is the first hotel in Vietnam that didn't have a tagging system for luggages. The following is a list of things that would normally be expected of an international chain resort hotel but we didn't get them: - No explanation about the resort. - No printed map of the sprawling complex. - No hotel policy and information book in the room like most hotels. - No wifi was mentioned and then when we looked in the room there was a card saying we had to be members of Marriott Bonvoy to get wifi but when we tried to join using our own data on the phone it proved way too involved and we weren't able to get wifi. (This was very disappointing considering the hotel was isolated and it was 30 minutes by taxi to town). - No mention of breakfast hours. - No explanation about restaurants or where they were. - No explanation about water in a place where tap water isn't safe to drink. - No explanation about what's around or how to get to town. We had to find the map and restaurant information ourselves on their website. The online map was inaccurate and showed breakfast at a different location. The map was low resolution and was not user friendly. We shouldn't have had to spend two hours on our own finding out how an expensive resort worked after checking The hotel was touted as new but it certainly wasn't. The shower hose was rusted and leaking, the door jamb had plaster chipping off it, and the hallways smelled strongly of mold and obviously the management knew because they had ozone generators and fans running in the hallways. The dinner at the hotel was terrible. It was the only restaurant around for kilometres so we had to go there and sure enough, the prices for their captive customers were exorbitant for Vietnam. The buffet was 950,000VND and most a la carte entrées cost 280,000VND and upwards, so we were basically paying higher-end Canadian prices for dinner. The food was was not entirely offensive but nothing like what we thought we ordered and certainly not what we were used to at those prices. The bulgogi was some repurposed braised meat from the buffet, definitely not grilled and definitely lacking the spices associated with real Korean bulgogi. The kimchi was the cheapest supermarket variety that tasted like vinegar. The nasi lemak kampung just had a lot of fish paste and dried shrimp
SSooonneWir haben zuvor schon 6 Nächste ”in dieser Ecke” im Coco Palm verbracht und sind zum Ende für unsere letzten 6 Nächte zurück nach Ong Lang und haben uns für das Kingo entschieden. Es liegt nicht direkt am Strand (mehr zum Strand lest ihr in der Coco Palm Bewertung) aber es hat eine herrliche ruhige und versteckte Lage. Mit dem Roller gar kein Problem. Es gibt zwei Wege von denen man das Kingo anfahren kann. Wir empfehlen den Weg vom Elwood Resort aus, da es schneller, kürzer und auch die Straße besser ist. Es gibt kostenlose Fahrräder, einen Kostenlosen One-way Shuttel-Service von ODER zum Flughafen und einen kostenlosen Bobby-Car Service für die umliegenden 1-2 Kilometer. Das Frühstück ist lohnenswert und sehr entspannt. Leider auch hier nur bis 10 Uhr. Bei der Ankunft wurde wir in einen Private Garden Bungalow geführt, hatten jedoch einen Bungalow am Pool gebucht (diese sind einfach größer und nochmal hübscher in Bad und Zimmer--entsprechend zahlt man etwas mehr) -es wäre wohl nicht das erste mal gewesen das die Buchungsagentur das falsch übermittelt hat, wie wir erfahren haben. Es musste also erstmal geklärt werden.. ging am Ende aber gut aus. Wir haben nochmal 20 Min. gewartet und dann den ursprünglich gebuchten Bungalow bezogen. Das Zimmer war sehr schön und das Bad auch schön groß mit Dusche und Wanne. Alles sehr sauber! Leider sind die Pool Bungalows Doppelhälften und EXTREM hellhörig. Wenn man sich mit den Türen von Bad und Bungalow keine Mühe gibt ( bzw auch die Nachbarn), dann sitzt man morgens direkt im Bett oder lauscht den Diskussionen der Nachbarn). Das ist aber auch schon das einzige was es auszusetzen gibt. Mir war die Matratze etwas zu hart (hatte mich die 5 Nächste zuvor im Lahana schon mit dem Brett von einem Bett gequält), weshalb es ab der 2. Nacht einen Topper gab... und schwupps, alles war super. Das Resort hatte nicht so viele aber oft wechselnde Gäste zu unserer Zeit, was natürlich sehr angenehm war! Der Poolbereich war ruhig, sehr gepflegt (wie die ganze Anlage) und lädt wirklich zum entspannen ein, wenn da nicht der Strand in der Nähe wäre :) -für unseren Abreisetag aber perfekt. Wir hätten trotz Leerstand die Hälfte vom Zimmerpreis zahlen müssen, wenn wir 3 Std länger drin bleiben wollten, weshalb wir das Gepäck an der Rezeption geparkt und im Gym abschließend geduscht haben (ach ja, der Fitnessraus ist ein Abstellraum und taugt nicht wirklich was... nutzt aber auch keiner). So lies es sich noch prima bis zum Abend aushalten, auch ohne Zimmer. Ein fehlendes Entgegenkommen was wir schon oft anders erlebt haben aber ok.. Business bleibt Business.. da ist man hier eben straight. Das Restaurant war uns zu teuer, da gibt es genügend in der Umgebung, auf die man ausweichen kann. Es sind viele kleine Leguane und Eidechsen, Geckos, Schmetterlinge, Schnecken und so weiter unterwegs. Es ist wirklich richtig schön und ruhig hier.
