Peppers Beach Club Port Douglas as Accor Platinum. Really lovely property. Nice welcome. Poolside breakfast ok (included as platinum). The plan was to eat at the restaurant (Koko) a couple of times but they are working on a reduced menu for a few weeks. Location is great. Short walk to town with all the restaurants and pubs. Free underground parking. No street noise. Modern and clean. 1 bedroom Lagoon Deluxe Suite is brilliant. Apartment style including laundry and kitchen. Good size, step off the balcony into the magnificent pool. These swim up suites have their own sunbeds on the deck so there’s no fighting over the shared sunbeds and getting frustrated with people who “reserve” them all day. My only negative is that our in room wifi is a bit patchy. I hope to return soon.
We found the resort rather dated throughout, disappointing considering the price for “blending luxurious comfort, a range of impressive facilities…” that include generic Anco (Kmart) brand microwave, hair dryer, cutlery and crockery, plus a Coles brand handwash in the bathroom (hardly luxury). The Bar fridge that didn’t even keep an individual ice-cream frozen. We were advised that’s ‘normal’ for a bar fridge! The floor surfaces weren’t particularly clean, with somewhat grotty bathroom tiles! The office manager was friendly but the facilities manager was disbelieving and condescending when I tried to explain a minor shower leak. He could not identify it, so I took photos which he bluntly declined to view. Our L1 apartment was sometimes not at all “peaceful” when people were directly below our room were chatting around the reception, BBQ and outdoor dining facilities. The BBQ was rather aromatic when in use and we needed to close the windows to prevent our apartment from smelling of BBQ odors or to block noise. Yes, noise happens but we shouldn’t have been located in this room when we specifically asked for a quiet room! The “comfortable” lounge was quite hard as were the cushions. On a positive note, it is in a good location to walk the beach and restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops on Macrossan Street being the main tourist strip.
We had an incredible 5 nights at Niramaya villas in mid October. We have traveled to many luxury hotels across the world, Niramaya really stood out for us particularly in terms of value for money. We stayed in Villa 41 (2 Bedroom) 2 adults & toddler & a baby. we requested an infinity pool & received just that. The villa was stunning, gardens were immaculate, pool a nice temperature. The villa was spacious with beautiful bathrooms, double garage with a stunning view across the little lake. It felt very private and was quiet. We booked direct through the hotel which included a $100 food voucher per day. One thing to note is when travelling with young children the second bedroom is quite far from the Master bedroom. Our baby monitor range did not reach, as a result one of us had to sleep in the same room as our toddler which was fine. Also there are rainforest noises throughout the night, so if you are a light sleeper I suggest ear plugs. We want to thank Ranaul, he was a wonderful staff member who went over and above to make our stay memorable. We will definitely be returning!
Great location walking distance to the wildlife centre, large supermarket and beach. Short drive to town and main beaches. Pleasant accommodation and facilities - pool, gardens etc (look out for the Currawongs). What sets Nimrod apart is Leanne and Gus. We had some usual requests and some unusual requests (such as recovering a kid's beloved item taken away with the linen..) and they couldn't have been more helpful with everything. Really enjoyed our stay and wo uuld recommend highly.
Excellent hotel - superior service quality. This hotel is really to be recommended: just across the promenade to the beach, nice breakfast included from 7 am - 2pm (!). Breakfast to go for early departure. Towels & beach chairs & sun umbrellas, nice swimming pool area, filtered water to go & ice cubes, bicycles, washing & drying facility including washing liquid for free, it offers simply everything. We have stayed at Australia for 4 weeks, travelling along 4-5 star hotels, and this was outstanding. Take a studio with sea view - and enjoy sun rise/set every day. Enjoy the lovely beach and water for swim, and the amazing view fro the hotel. By the way: we booked a snorkelling tour by ABC Snorkel company, a business offering small tours guided by marine biologists per 6-persons each group. Well done.
PPaulA nice hotel a little way out of town (25 min walk or 5 mins with a transport service), and a little less to 4 mile beach. They had a decent sized pool and the room was clean and a good size. Friendly staff who were happy to look after bags after checkout so I could go out for the day close to the wildlife habitable
Such a cozy little motel. Nice comfy rooms very clean. Perfect little pool and BBQ area at the back so kids can swim while we were relaxing around the barbecue clear view of the pool. Mark was super helpful with all of our needs. Also a few tradies there who were always good for a interesting chat:). Highly recommend and would stay again
ゲゲストBooking our stay at the Coral Beach Lodge was a bit of a last minute thing and I must say that I was a bit dubious about the communal kitchen, but I was pleasantly surprised. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful and our room was clean and a good size, which included an outdoor table and 2 chairs outside the sliding door at the back of the room. The pool was lovely! There was also a table tennis table and a pool table which we had a few games on. The communal kitchen was great as everyone was friendly and chatty with each other. I think this may be a back packers place as there were a lot of young travelers there. We did plan a barbecue for that night though, but the gas bottle was empty so we cooked it in the kitchen. They are building a bar there but it won't be ready until April. Overall, a nice place to stay and was only $99 for the night.
This property is out dated and needs a large refresh to be considered a four star property. it is well below half a star below Mantra Aqueous, which we would rate at 4 star. The breakfast was lacklustre and had numerous appliances out of order especially coffee machine. the reception amenities area was sufficient however its opening hours were below expectation 0600 would be an expectation and there were several other parties that would have purchased coffee if it had been open before 0700. Also for a continental breakfast 0700 is too late of an opening time.
