アナンタヤ ビーチ(Ananthaya Beach)

We stayed for 2 nights and we regret that we didn't stay any longer. We travelled for 3 weeks through sri lanka and this was for sure the best hotel. We went for a luxury hotel during our stay in Sri lanka but ananthaya Beach hotel definitly beat it. We went for the massages and my boyfriend said, it was the best he ever had. From food to the staff, the location etc, we had nothing to complain. They even serve cappucino, something that is really rare in sri lankan hotels^^ In the morning its possible to walk on a "desert" beach. The location is "far" from the center but you definitly don't need to quit the hotel. They have everything you need. Thank you!!!

We stayed here for three nights and absolutely loved it. The view from your balcony and the pool area is to die for, it’s really something. The staff and owner are really friendly and can’t do enough for you, they just want you to have a nice time. They are great! Our room was perfectly fine, nothing fancy, just a big high ceilinged room, that was very clean and all we needed, it slept two adults and two young kids - admittedly the youngest had to sleep in with us. As they only provide a king size bed and one single. Not sure if you can request an extra bed but for three nights we more than comfortable. The pool and loungers are really nice. The kids loved the pool and seeing the wildlife too. The sunrise here is spectacular but the way. The food was ok - breakfast was included and there’s a varied choice and a lovely fruit platter every morning. Dinner is from a varied menu and again it’s ok, it’s very cheap, but portions are on the smaller side. A family of four can eat for £25/£30 comfortably. We choose to eat out a couple of times and that’s nothing more than a short Tuk Tuk ride away. I also highly recommend the local bird sanctuary - what a day out that was. We would 100% stay here again and I think 3 nights is about right if you are foodies like us. This is the perfect place to switch off from the world, it’s a little slice of paradise. We didn’t venture out too far on the beaches as the dogs (lots) scared our kids, they seemed perfectly harmless but the barking frightened our little ones. They seemed quite territorial. The owner of hotel assured us they don’t bite, but sadly our kids and us to be honest felt a bit intimidated by them. In January we spent 3 days in Anathaya beach. Wonderful place. Clean, spacious room, nice view, tasty food and absolutely amazing friendly and helpful staff. Thank you for the hospitality. Hope to see you again.

We enjoyed a lovely couple of days at this small hotel with on-site restaurant and a massage centre over the road. Rooms are sizeable and functional. Pool and rooms enjoy stunning views over the ocean and sunrise. Its a short walk to the beach which was largely deserted: certainly no beach side bars. Swimming didn't look safe to us on the main beach beyond the breakwater. There is a simple, small beach side restaurant about 1 km away - lovely walk down deserted lane. Tangalle beaches are 30 min drive - fine if you've got a driver. Great place if you're looking for somewhere a bit "off grid".

I stayed at Ananthaya Beach Resort for 4 nights / 5 days in November 2023, and I absolutely loved the place. The entire area of Rekawa is super relaxed. The rooms are large and clean, the close-by beaches are stunningly beautiful. The infinity pool is fantastic. But the major asset of the resort for me personally was the staff. Every single person I met was just so kind and helpful. And as I have worked in hotels myself, one thing that drew my attention is how well the staff collaborates. They support each other and are not only kind to the customers but also among themselves. So, if you stay here make sure to leave a proper tip for these fantastic people, hehe. If you go to the south of Sri Lanka, Ananthaya from my side is THE PLACE to stay.

Very good and friendly staff. Tasty foods. Nice sea view. Easy access to the beach and overall nice experience and can recommend for anyone. We spend two nights there and upstairs rooms have a great sea view.

A real place to relax and fully worth the price you pay. Beach is somewhat dirty. Still one can see turtles swimming around 200 yards to the left side and on right just after the jetty you can see mini hikkaaduwa-type corals and fish. food is excellent and fresh. the infinity pool is inviting. staff including the owner is giving excellent service. Every need of the client has well looked after.
