Guesthouse Oyado Sapporo

First and foremost, Yoshi is amazing. She's super friendly and you can chat with her for hours. The atmosphere is just great and the Sapporo Classic beer on tap is makes it all even better. The sleeping arrangements are similar to pods. Spacious and the beds are so comfortable. Best night sleep in Japan. Location is good. Only a short walk from the station and the train takes you to most of the main stations in Sapporo including JR Pass stations. It just so happened that arrived on the 4th anniversary of the hostel so Yoshi was receiving many gifts from friends. She shared all of her snacks with the guests. She truly cares about this hostel and the people in it and that has just been "the cherry on the cake".

From the moment I arrived the owner went out of her way to make me feel welcome - from conversations to snacks and advice. The guesthouse is lovely and warm in the winter, and the room itself was comfortable. There was sometimes a little noise from the road (especially when they were clearing snow), but it did not stop me from sleeping. The guesthouse is located a little way from the center of Sapporo, but close to a station and you can be in the center in a few minutes. It's very closely to convenience stores and supermarkets, and there are lots of parks to walk around in.
