グルメティ マイグレーション キャンプ

This camp has amazing facilities, you easily forget that you are in the middle of a reserve parc (you even have a pool). But still intimate, with 10 or so tents, which makes it a really special experience. Recently remodeled / refurbished, tastefully decorated. This was a wonderful place to stay and we'd very happily stay here again. The rooms were of good quality: sizable, with all the necessary facilities, a fantastic view over the African plains, right from your queen size bed, and good sanitary facilities (toilets/sinks/inside and outside showers)/ The food was very good: meats and vegetables had a wonderful organic flavour to them and special dietary wishes were all taken into account by the chef. The staff was very friendly and always ready to help out. The camp is located right in a nature reserve, which is exactly the experience we came for. We'd often see the buffalo near our tents at night, as they seek out the camp for protection from nocturnal predators. The same nocturnal predators, lions and hyena's, could be heard lurking around the camp at night. Of course there's no real danger, as there's always camp security around to guide you to your tents and to keep the place safe. You're really camping in the wilderness, with all the benefits of camping, and none of the discomforts! It was an unforgettable experience for us and we'd love to do it all over again.

We verbleven hier 2 dagen (6 dagen safari waarvan 2 in serengeti tortilles camp en 2 in kastaz). Dit was het minste. De sfeer en service was pover. We waren de enige in het camp en het voelde alsof we tijdens restaurantie kwamen. Het zwembad was niet gevuld (met een dochter die graag zwemt had ik deze gekozen), men was aan het timmeren aan een kamer en de eetruimte. Onze kamer was niet opgeruimd na nacht 1. Ook qua ligging is dit in juli een minder keuze. De migratie is gepasseerd en je dient toch 45 min te rijden alvorens je terug in de Serengeti bent. Het uitzicht is wel heel mooi en de kamer is ok. Ze hebben alle ingrediënten om hier iets mooi van te maken, maar dat was niet het geval bij ons bezoek.
