TTrail312687Great location. It’s very close to grocery stores, The Village, and attractions. We also went to The Barn Bowling Alley and Swim Beach/Ski Beach, and everything was close by. I was pleasantly surprised with the room. It’s very roomy and has a rustic modern feel. It was clean and we loved the full kitchen. Our family of four enjoyed our stay. We would definitely book here again. The pool was a perfect temp. We come to big bear every summer in August. We find most places don’t have AC. This place provided fans and we brought an extra from house. Each room also has a ceiling fan. The place cools down really quick. All the staff were so nice. I called ahead and asked for a first floor due to a recent knee injury. They were able to accommodate. The bathroom showers even had rails in the shower which was a bonus.
SSafari49676560189Shout out to Peter at the front desk, excellent service in taking reservation over the phone and then the quick and thorough check in process. Nice little motel in the village of big bear, clean rooms, relatively quiet for the location and the price couldn't be beat. Stayed on a Saturday night and the rate was $100 less for an equivalent sized room at competing hotels. We will be back!
This has been a last minute booking for me. I paid an exorbitant $340 for a crappy, stained all over, motel 6 room. The gap around the door was about half inch wide. 15° outside. The heater didn't work, so I called the front desk. They told me to wait a few minutes. I used both units, wall and central, and neither worked. I was so tired from snowboarding that I immediately fell asleep. 2 hours later I woke up all cold. The heater had never kicked in. The next morning, classy ”daddy's girl” tattoo on the chest clerk told me that she would let the management know about my horrible experience. Melody, the manager whom I called about 6 times, told me that she spoke with the owner and that the heater is working. So basically, she told me that I was lying...... You're better off sleeping in your car than spending the night there. Oh, the toilet handle was broken too...
