エジプト ミル ホテル(Egypt Mill Hotel and Restaurant)

Stayed here for 5 nights. Had to change rooms for the last night as our room was not available for 5 nights. Obviously the hotel was aware and I had mentioned it at 10am that morning at breakfast when I was due to change rooms. I was told the new room I was moving into was empty the night before and then I was told they had checked out already and was informed I’d still have to wait until 3pm. I asked could the room be prioritized as I have to check out at 11am and I do not have a car as I was waiting on the other guest to return at 6pm and I will just be waiting around the lobby and bar on my own and I’d rather be able to watch tv or shower in the room as I had no where to go. I work in a hotel so I am well aware to do our best to accommodate and prioritize guests especially if they’ve already been here all week and paying a lot of money including food and drinks. The notes on the booking would have informed staff I was moving room and accommodation would also know. I was sitting for nearly 5 hours in the bar on my own clearly waiting on the room before anyone even enquired with accommodation or let accommodation know I was waiting. I asked the staff each time I went up for a drink to please let me know and asked Lauren if she could prioritize my new room as I’m siting in the bar for hours waiting on my own or even move me to another room that was the same standard if one was empty and I was told I would be informed when it is ready. I know the hotel was not full the night before so there was plenty of empty rooms available. Several hours later at 3.10pm after waiting since before 11am and after several people checked in since before 2pm! I was informed my room was ‘ready’. It takes 20 minutes to clean a room. Whether the room was empty the night before like one staff member told me or whether it was one of the first rooms to check out like I was informed it was also, housekeeping would have done it straight away while they were waiting for the other rooms to check out at 11 so it was more than likely ready before I even checked out of my old room before 11am. It was absolutely unnecessary to leave me clearly at the bar on my own for nearly 5 hours sitting there! We stay in the area monthly for nearly a week and we said we would try the Egypt Mill Hotel for a change and we will never return due to this experience. Breakfast service was also poor, we had it included in our packed for 5 mornings but only availed of it twice as it was very disappointing the first morning we tried it. Waited over 15 minutes one morning to be served and I was the only person in the room. On Friday morning at 10.15am before we checked out, we both went into the breakfast room to grab some continental breakfast as we did not fancy hot food and was told it was all gone, the continental table had been taken away also. I was told all that was left was a croissant behind in the kitchen. We had no cereal, no juices, no breads, nothing to choose from! This was very strange c

What a fabulous place for a wedding! An amazing venue and the food was absolutely gorgeous. Great service from all of the team but a huge shout out to Stacey. I would employ her now!!! Thank you everyone! Would definitely recommend going here!!!

I could leave a three word review for the Egypt Mill; tired and drab. However, I'll elaborate a little on that. A pub/restaurant with rooms, we ate, drank and stayed the night. The rooms are very tired, bland, cold (in temperature and feel) and have no character at all - see pics. I won't be unkind but will just say that the place really does need a refurb. The bar/ restaurant is a rung up from a Wetherspoons, the food average, however, a positive was the friendly staff - they get you a three instead of a two . I have stayed in worse places - I remember a B&B in Blackpool in the 90s - but the Egypt Mill Hotel is the kind of place that if I found a chocolate on my pillow I'd call housekeeping.

What a lovely place! We had a nice stay there, the room was super nice, bed was excellent. Breakfast was outstanding, and our waiter Bruce was out of this world!! Never met such a friendly guy before. You are lucky to have him in your team. Also dinner was excellent, definitely will come back again!

This was a return visit after a previous stay where things were not up to our expectations. I am pleased to say that we had a great stay this time. We were in one of the rooms in the adjoining building which have recently been refurbished and upgraded. The room was really well appointed and we would be delighted to return and stay there anytime. A massive rebuild/refurb of the Jones building (which is where we previously had a bad experience) is underway. If this is completed to the same standard as the other refurbished rooms it will make the Egypt Mill a place worth visiting again.

Very nice location. The setting is lovely. The bar was good. However a couple of small points 1. The breakfast service was very very slow. They must have the slowest chef in the region. In fact despite being included we had breakfast elsewhere. They really should consider a hot buffet. 2. There are no plugs near the bed. Given reliance on mobile phones this is quite annoying 3 evening meal. We didn’t try it (due to breakfast experience) but our friends did and said it was good.

Parking charge: £170 after bringing the family for a meal (~4th visit). Massive empty parking lot. Must have forgot to checkin or something. Reached out to the hotel, they did nothing. Parking charge got sent to debt recovery plus. Never going back.

Always love going back each year for our annual Cheltenham festival stay, Smooth check in and really lovely room (room 2) freshly redecorated and ample room for our overnight visit, Followed by the a very nice full English breakfast,staff always polite and helpful,thank you EMH

stayed for 2 nights very clean hotel room very large bottled water in room changed daily toiletries supplied.all in all a very pleasant stay in a very well run hotel set in very pleasant location with water fall running around hotel into a lake
