Location - Reasonably convenient for my stay, although unfortunately with the road works right in front. This is no fault or criticism towards the hotel.
Cleanliness - The room was tidy and well presented. The lobby area was also very well maintained, along with the restaurant and bar area. Walking along the hallway was no issue. There were empty service food trays left outside some rooms but is it to be expected.
Service - Upon checking in, I was asked how many staying in the room. I had booked a double bed room, however, I was initially given a room with 2 single beds which unfortunately I was not happy with. I walked back to the reception and asked for a change, the receptionist made the change but gave me a room with with disable access. Again, it was not a what I had booked, however, I decided to keep the keep due to my day's work, I did not want to continue going back and forth. The dissatisfaction and disappointment could have all been avoided in the first place if the receptionist would have informed me that there was no more room for a normal double bed and have given me the options instead. This courteous suggestion would have been much better than just handing over the keys to a room that wasn't booked.
Facilities - There is car park, however, during previous visits I've been told I needed to pay £16 for parking. Furthermore, there was no suitable car part patrol. Upon arriving, some cars/vans would station instead right in front of the hotel entrance which blocks the way to the car park. There is no staff to control this or more then along for other vehicles to find parking space.
Overall, the hotel presentation is great and credit to its location, however, effective communication would really help with service and overall experience. I would happily come again on a frequent basis! :)
