Premier Inn Southend On Sea (Eastern Esplanade)

Staff fantastic!Short staffed (shame on you Whitbread for saving hours when you don’t have to) but they were great!Running around to accommodate all the guests for bfast… What else can they do???? 2 people attending more than 80 guests???? Well done guys!💛 Hoping for better days ,keep up the fab work you do !You are amazing ! The hotel was spotless and we were very happy with our room. We’d read previous reviews but we have to say, although short staffed, the team on shift were fantastic and ever so helpful. Our food (pre-booked with the Premier Inn meal deal) was across the board delicious, including gluten free and kids menu. In particular Jackie and Mia were superb and made our evening meal and stay very enjoyable.

We booked a room with a view for my partner's birthday. The room itself was big and quiet nice. The shower was quite weak. We were on the first floor to the side so the view wasn't as good as we hoped. It was a small side window through which you could mainly see the main road. We had our evening meal at the hotel. The food was delicious. Both Mia and Joanne were excellent, a credit to Premier Inn. Friendly, always smiling and great customer service skills. The hotel is a short walk from Southend East train station. When you exit the station go over the bridge so that you're on the other side of the station and it's practically a straight line to the hotel. Very easy to find. Now the bad news. The breakfast was awful. No meat sausages, no promised vegetarian sausages or vegan bacon. Both hot drink machines were not working. The juices had almost run out. Their was no scrambled eggs left when my partner went up to get his breakfast. Everything was cold. Awful. Breakfast was served until 11am and we were there around 10.15 or so. We normally love Premier Inn breakfasts so we were extremely disappointed. Would we stay there again? No, based purely on the terrible breakfast.

The check in and room was ok. A few of us was visiting the hotel for a course. No one in the restaurant but could not get a meal for a hour, no beer on tap as the pumps had run out. Meal was ok. We had Breakfast, but both coffee machines were not working, Hot breakfast was table service, and no buffet. 1 person running around. She said it was table service as the hotel was empty but most of the tables had plates on them. I am not sure what is happening to.premir Inn either sell up and let some one else take over the company. They will probably do a better job. This is the 3 premier Inn I have stayed in over 4 months.. everyone has the same problems.

The hotel staff are efficient and friendly, the room was spotless and the beds very comfortable with extra pillows, we slept like logs!.the restaurant was lovely and the breakfast was good quality, plentiful and served by a lovely friendly lady, couldn't ask for any more from a hotel!!

This hotel is situated in a great location, right opposite the sea and only a short walk to the pier and fun fair. The rooms are comfortable and have normal room facilities. There is a restaurant on site that serves breakfast and evening meals, both of which are very good. The staff are very friendly but have to work really hard as their numbers are limited and they have to multi-task. There is on-site parking at the rear of the hotel which costs £7 per night. Well worth a visit.
