Been to this hotel several times. Each time it was good the last time I wasn’t sure if the guy at the front desk was a hood or a robber. He never took his black hoodie off. Again this weekend we checked in he was here again he this time he was wearing a gray hoodie. I went down to explain that it’s 3 o’clock in the morning why are the employees yelling back-and-forth across the parking lot. At 7:15 AM a car was out there honking his horn. The phone did not work in the room so I had to go down and tell him to do something he said OK. He did nothing because the cars kept honking. I then told him when I come back for the day I want my removed from the phone front of the hotel to the back of the hotel again the same response OK don’t they hire professionals if he took off his sweatshirt, he would look so much better. They should do something about this.

The hotel was so-so for the price. It did not have any “upscale” amenities like a terry robe or room safe; but is also lacked some basic amenities like a plastic laundry bag, disposable shower cap (which are available 5 to a pack at dollar store), writing pad/pen. The room was in disrepair: the sliding closet doors were missing hardware and off the track, there was a constant stream of water from the tub faucet, no exhaust fan in bathroom, tub lacked non-skid floor, shower curtain was 8-10 inches too long so it got soaked if left inside the tub but the floor got flooded if left outside, at least one electric outlet didn’t work, the hair dryer didn’t work (housekeeping provided a replacement very quickly), the coffee maker didn’t work (I lived without it), the fire alarm went off (thank goodness not in the middle of the night and fortunately a false alarm). As a courtesy, I pointed out the drip, closet doors, coffee maker when I checked out; they made a note and said the rooms were being renovated and all of this would be addressed. So, bottom line: I paid top dollar (because I wanted the ability to cancel if necessary) for a sub-par room.

Up to the usual (low) standard I often see at an HGI. This one was last cleaned properly before COVID and the main issue is staffing. The receptionist was the rudest, most disinterested person I've had the displeasure of interacting with. The whole interaction just left me shaking my head as to how someone with such poor interpersonal skills could end up in this customer-facing position... The room itself was tired, dirty and depressing. It was a suite, but the main room was a huge space with a single sofa shoved in the corner. The bed was very worn, with a big impression in the space where 1000's of bodies have been before. The shower was a walk in that left a huge pool of water on the floor and the water took ages to run warm. Breakfast was another example of where cost-cutting is king. There was one server and one cook, and it took 30 minutes to get an omelette . I don't blame the server, she was running around like crazy, there just weren't enough staff for the volume of people at breakfast. There was also a very poor selection of fruit, yogurt etc. Just minimal effort. Overall a very disheartening stay. I won't be coming back!
