I visited this hotel with a group holiday so it was part of a package deal. The cost was very cheap. The room was noticeably compact, but clean and in order. All of the basic facilities were provided, plus breakfast and dinner were included in the price and were very good. I was reasonably impressed, particularly with the dinner.

Shocking hotel. Iv stayed in a few rough hotels but this one is bad. Smallest room Iv every seen, dated, toilet pan feels like it’s about to fall off and shower hose leaking in 3 places. Should be staying for 2 nights, see one out and travel home. Room measures roughly 3.5 x 4.5m. Avoid!!!

The old hotel was quite dated but did not disappoint, The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a buffet breakfast which you help yourself to whatever you wish A good selection of hot food and also the food selection of continental food was good also, 5 star breakfast. Evening meal very good also would return again just for the food. Great location in the centre of town close to all amenities. Don't let other bad views of this hotel put you off as this hotel is good value for money.

This hotel was fine but needs updating. The room was clean with lovely comfy clean bed and an en-suite that had been redecorated. But the rest of the hotel sadly needed new carpets and an update. We could hear noises from other rooms and the breakfast was mediocre. At over £160 per night, it needs to be better and the carpark is a bit of a free for all.

If you are looking for modern then this is not the hotel for you. It is a very old building but very clean and has everything you need for a great stay. It is right in the centre of Oban, very close to the ferry terminals and every other amenity. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly and we had both breakfast and evening meals and cannot fault the food. There is a small carpark at the rear of the hotel and we never had any issue finding a parking space.

DISGUSTING. The reception sets the tone, old worn out and could do with serious money being spent here. On the way to my second floor room making my way up the threadbare carpeted uneven staircase (thankfully there is an elevator) I couldn't help but notice that the walls were all marked with paper ripped off and painted chipped on the majority of the woodwork. The hallways were no better. I had booked a single room and what greeted me was possibly the worst room I have ever stayed in. The very small to say the least was furnished with dark, dated and worn out furniture. Cutting to the chase the was tired and needs severe attention. I managed to open the window which looked onto the fire escape. As it was raining there was a constant drip so keeping the window open in an already hot room wasn't an option. The bathroom, Wow. FILTHY. MOULD, DIRT AND A DISGUSTING TOILET which hadn't seen bleach since it had been installed. The paint was flaking off the ceiling and the place had a pungent smell of dampness. My advice would be to give this place a huge swerve and spend extra on a cleaner hotel.

I love historical hotels, unfortunately this one is just sad and dreary. The rooms are old and tired in serious need of renovation. The floors sag and the ceilings have cracks or holes. The bed was not comfortable. The breakfast buffet is not appetizing at all with very little choices. The only bright spot at this place was the staff. The were very friendly and as helpful as the could be with what they have to work with. I kind of felt sorry for them.

Found the hotel easily, however the car parking was grim. An area at the back of the hotel which was not a car park at all, no spaces, just chuck your car wherever. Lovely reception staff. Bedroom was OK, in need of refurbishment. We had bar meals for dinner, they were as expected. Breakfast was buffet and good. Location was great, easy walk to harbour
