Arrived to find a full car park, heart sink but eventually with help from a lovely person that was a car park around the back. Unfortunately the building was in need of painting so our heart sank again. We were travelling with our dogs and accommodation is often not up to scratch, but not in this case. The welcome was fantastic, all and I repeat every member of stuff I spoke to was kind and polite and seemed really pleased to help. The room was unbelievably clean and I’ve stayed in many Travelodge’s for convenience and they usually cheap and cheerful. Not this one it was presented at the highest standard. I spoke to the Hotel housekeeping staff a couple of times pleasant and very hard-working. I mentioned two problems with the room which were not of the hotels doing but I imagine a previous guest try to open the window too far and damaged it and it was repaired within hours. The room cards needed re activated which was a nuisance. Unlike the other Travelodge I have stayed in -the soundproofing was amazing and we couldn’t hear anybody upstairs run a shower or flush a toilet which I have heard another travel lodges. But here.It is the staff that make it so good.Alona was the only name I got but EVERYONE spoke to us, and appeared to go above and beyond
The building is old and could use a lick of paint and some new carpets. However, the room had been fully decorated, was great value, clean and tidy with a bath tub rather than just a shower. and a heated towel rack. The TV signal was really bad, but the WiFi was good, so we were able to watch TV on our devices. There was free off road parking. More options for breakfast would be nice, but if you like a simple continental it's nice. There were lots of options to local restaurants on deliveroo, so we were able to enjoy a nice meal in the lovely alcove in the room where there was a table and 2 chairs, looking out the bay window. The staff, Hissan and his team were amazing, caring and friendly, providing ice for our cooler twice and also amending our booking to a second night stay, without making us change rooms. For an inexpensive stay, you'll have a hard time finding better.
Great hotel, the room was lovely & so was the pool area! We went on the weekend at the start of half term so there was a lot of family’s there & children. I heard the week is better if you don’t want lots of children around but for us this wasn’t an issue. The hotel is very big & there is lots around. It is also in a great location close to the beach, parks & walking distance from the town. We really enjoyed our stay here :)
Being a local, I've had the pleasure of popping into the spa at the Belgrave Sands Hotel quite a bit, and honestly, it never disappoints! Location: You can't beat the views. Right on the cliff edge overlooking Torbay – it's absolutely stunning. And if you fancy a dip in the sea, the beach is just a short walk away. Rooms: Haven't stayed overnight myself, but friends rave about how comfy and spacious they are. Spa: This is the real gem. They have a fantastic range of treatments, and the therapists really know their stuff. I treated myself to a massage and facial the other day, and honestly, I felt like a new person afterwards. The pool and sauna are perfect for chilling out too. Food: Their restaurant is great – fresh, local food that tastes amazing. I've heard the breakfast buffet is something else! Service: Everyone's super friendly and helpful. Big shoutout to Chloe, who made joining the spa and answering my questions a breeze. Overall: If you're looking for a bit of pampering and relaxation, whether you're visiting or live nearby like me, I can't recommend the Belgrave Sands Spa enough. Beautiful views, top-notch facilities, and lovely staff – it's a real treat!
We stayed at The Imperial from the 8 September for one week. We booked a sea view room with a balcony, the view was brilliant, however, the noise from some equipment in the gardens, meant we could hear a constant humming noise, if you're not a light sleeper it would not have been problem. After two nights the reception staff very kindly moved us to a suite which was lovely and quiet, with an equally brilliant sea view, it was very much appreciated, thank you. The rooms are dated, we knew that before we booked, it is the fantastic sea views and location that made us book this hotel again. The staff are all very efficient and polite, they all do a fantastic job, special thanks to Mandy and Kelly. Housekeeping kept the suite very clean, super comfy bed and the suite was extremely spacious. There is a hairdryer, ironing board, iron, fridge and fan provided. We enjoyed a week of sunshine, it was lovely. We had a cream tea in the bar area, delicious. There was plenty of choice for breakfast, hot or cold. The views over the sea were a great way to start the day. The hotel is perfectly located for Torquay harbour, shops and local restaurants, Amici and Bianco's in Torquay, both recommended. We hope to visit again soon. J & J, Staffordshire.
JJosephine BAs soon as we arrived at Harmony we were greeted by Michelle was so friendly and welcoming after chatting with us and showing us to our room offered u cup of tea! Obviously very knowledgeable about area recommending lots of places to visit. Our room was quite large comfortable and clean and the bed was super comfortable. My very fussy husband loved the breakfast as did i! Sausage were delicious. There was also a honesty bar which is a great idea and the room was decorated very tasteful. We had a great stay and will definitely be returning. Good location too!
What a charming and comfortable place to stay in Torquay! We enjoyed every mintue of it, and our hosts Lynn and Paul were so friendly and thoughtful. Centrally located on a quiet street, it's only a 10-15 walk to most of the local attractions. Breakfast was delicious each day, and Lynn was so helpful to us during our stay. I highly recommend Carlton Court for a Devon visit.
Hotel from the outset looked lovely, you can clearly see that it has been modernised and the communal areas are lovely and bright with really nice furniture however this cannot be said for my room. even though it was a basic single room it was in dire need of modernisation this included the furniture, bathroom and decor. it was all very dated. There was no lamp in the room which was quite annoying. Bathroom was tiny although the shower was nice and hot, fluffy towels too. Room door would slam shut, bedding was thin needed a blanket and at first was told might not have any as hotel was busy however i did get one but it was small but i was also given a heater. Floor was uneven in front of the wardrobe and the floor outside my room was very noisy. Had 2 meals in the bar area which were both really good and tasty. 3 course meal in the Romanov room was ok but expected something a bit more special. The breakfast was very good apart from the coffee which I thought was disgusting. Parking is totally hectic for this place especially if there is a coach parked up. I never used the pool or Spa so no comments on it. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and definitely bring the vibe up as the majority of the guest are 65+yrs old. This hotel has the potential to be a 4* but its just not there yet
Friendly welcome on arrival. Given a lovely king-size room with Seaview (meadow suite) The room was so spacious and relaxing to be in. All very clean. Great facilities such as pools, steam room, sauna and hottub. No issues with parking ,limited carpark size but plenty of street parking available. 5 min walk to the town. This hotel exceeded our expectations as a last minute booking. And came away all relaxed, calm and de stressed. Will definitely be back.
