The apartment is in a family house, located in a quiet street in the heart of Reykjavik. Walking distance from Main street, swimming pools, dining, entertainment and BSÍ Bus terminal (Airport bus). Public transport 7 min away linking you to all parts of the city. Cozy 78 sq m apartment located in Hlíðar, Reykjavík. The kitchen is well equipted, living room bright and all windows facing south. One bedroom with double bed and enough room for a mattress on the floor. The apartment is fully furnished with all equipment necessary for a good life, including internet, dishwasher, TV and outdoor BBQ grill.Guests have access to free wireless internet connection. Our guest have access to our washing machine.The apartment is very well located, 20 min from the main street Laugavegur and the city center where most of the restaurants, cafés and bars are located. 15 min walk to the nearest swimming pool, 15 min to Nauthólsvík the geothermally heated beach, 10 min to Kringlan mall, 10 min to Klambratún park , Kjarvalsstaðir museum and Perlan museum. Grocery store and bakery are close by.There is parking available in the street in front of the house. Core of this house goes back to 1898 although updated in the forties and has recent new bathrooms. Two of the rooms are attic rooms while the third faces the garden and the fourth the street. Guests report their best sleep - especially in the attic although we "blame" it on the comfy beds and the wood core spirit in this house. Kitchen is full equipped but simple and basic. Luxury character townhouse in a quiet residential area just 5 minutes walk to Reykjavik center with a garden and off street parking. The router is located in the living room - network and access code are listed on the side of the router. From the entrance hall there is a door leading to a space for hanging outdoor clothing and shoes. The kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped including a mixer, microwave and toaster. Bedroom 1 has has a queen sized double bed and a good wardrobe. Space to store luggage. Small balcony facing the garden. Bedroom 2 has a king sized double bed, a small desk to and space to store luggage. Bedroom 3 has a bunk-bed (90cm x 200cm). The Bathroom is fully tiled, it has a double sink with a large mirror and shaver power-point. The bathroom has a large comfy shower unit. There is a hairdrier stored in the large under-sink storage unit. John Lewis towels, Molton Brown handwash and lotion. The living-room is open plan with a Chesterfield sofa and two comfy chairs. From the living-room there is a double door leading to the garden. The dining area is open plan with the lounge and kitchen the dining table can easily seat 8 people. Downstairs there is a washroom equipped with a washingmachine / tuble-dryer unit. There is space for hanging washing and an extra storage space for luggage. There is off-street parking for one car (in front of the garage) and plenty of free parking on the street next to the house. We would like to welcome you to our holiday home in Iceland. The house main floor has a well equipped kitchen, dining area for about 8 people and lounge with a double door access to the garden. The main floor is all in an open plan space. A winding staircase lit by a large stain glass window takes you to the upper floor which has three bedrooms and a bathroom. There is access through the hallway on the main floor leading down stairs to the wash room in case you have some washing to do (this is shared with our ground floor flat).Guest interactionDepending on your arrival time, our caretaker will meet you at the property, hand over keys and show you around. For arrivals later in the evening, during night time or early morning, keys will be accessed through a security box with an access code at the property. The flat is less than 5 minutes walk from the local grocery shop (open 24 hours), pharmacy and the central city-bus station. The house is about 3 minutes walk to an indoor swimming pool (Sundhöllin). There is 3 minutes walk to one of Reykjavik´s central parks with play areas for children and the park houses, a great café and one of Reykjavik´s main art museums (Kjarvalstaðir). Taking the Flybus+option at Keflavik Airport you can ask for a drop off at Reykjavik Hostel Village which is less than a 1 minute walk to our house. The main feature of the location is that you can walk to majority of Reykjavik´s sights, cafés , restaurants, museums and shopping within 5 to 10 minutes. The Central Reykjavik City-Bus Station at "Hlemmur" is less than 5 minutes walk. The house is one of Reykjavik’s “funkis style” houses built 1937/38 in one of the first architect designed residential houses in a planned neighbourhood with all lounges and gardens facing south. The house is typical of the area and is clad with what can best be described as lava like concrete coating for protection against the elements. The house has been extensively refurbished and contains all modern features for a comfortable and carefree stay in a quiet residential area a short walk from the City centre. This door leads to a tiled hallway.The second kitchen is fitted with electric hob and oven, fridge and microwave. There is coffee maker and all main kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery.The second bathroom has a large walk in rain shower, fully tiled with a wide sink and large mirror.The lower ground floor bedroom (bedroom 4) has a queen sized comfortable double bed.The open plan lounge space has a sofa bed which converts to a double bed, comfortably sleeping two adults. The lounge is fitted with a 50inch smart TV and two tall wardrobe units with hangers and drawers to accommodate your clothing and luggage.The lower ground flat has the same wooden flooring throughout as upper floors and tiles in kitchen and bathroom.On the lower-ground floor there is a washroom equipped with a washing machine and a fold-out washing line for hanging clothes.
