This is the Seattle everyone thinks of when they think of Seattle these days -- hip and hipster and delicious and progressive and proudly gay. It's becoming a bit more gentrified these days thanks to the city's popularity, but it's an absolute must for visitors to take a stroll up and down Broadway. Here, you'll get a chance to sample the many awesome food options and the happening night life going on for both tourists and locals, gays and straights, along with an artsy sensibility to the streets, including the newly added rainbow crosswalks. Keep an eye out for the street performers or teenage runaways that tend to congregate around here.
I went to Capitol Hill on a Tuesday Night and it was live! It was also real...There was an EDM show that was Sold Out with a huge line wrapping around the corner adjacent to a man with a sign asking for money to feed him and his girl (a cat). There were people near buskers performing various instruments and singing on just about every corner and all the restaurants and bars were packed. We stumbled into one locale serving Aloha Burgers (born & raised in Hawaii) and having a quiz show evening. It was awesome and an easy walk back to Belltown. The next day, we were told that we should see what a weekend is like. Man, I couldn't begin imagine what that would be like...
