Nanputuo Temple, situated under the five old peaks in the southeast of Xiamen City, Fujian Province, is situated in the north facing the south, facing the sea and mountains. It was built in the late Tang Dynasty and was renamed as Sizhou Temple. During the Song Dynasty, it was renamed Puzhao Temple because of its worship of Guanyin Bodhisattva, which is similar to the Guanyin Taoist Site in Putuo Mountain, Zhejiang Province. It is also named "Nanputuo Temple" south of Putuo Mountain, which is one of the Buddhist resorts in southern Fujian. The blood script "Miaofa Lianhua Jing" in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty and the famous artist He Chaozhong's Bai Porcelain Guanyin in the Ming Dynasty are the most precious. The main buildings are Tianwang Dian, Daxiong Baodian, Dabei Dian, Tibetan Sutra Pavilion, etc. There is a square in front of Tianwang Dian, which is about 30 meters long and wide, and a lotus pond about 100 meters long and 80 meters wide. There are low walls with glazed tiles on the outside of the lotus pond. There are symmetrical double eaves archway gate in the East and west. The title is "Ludao Mingshan", which is the title of Zhao Puchu, former president of the Chinese Buddhist Society. The whole monastery is grand in scale and solemn in momentum, with palaces and pavilions rising in accordance with the mountain layers, with distinct layers and orderly scattering. Nanputuo Temple is very close to Xiamen University. There are vegetarian cakes, sweet and salty stuffing, and vegetarian stuffing. It also has its own characteristics. It pays attention to color, fragrance, taste, shape, spirit and utensils. On November 24, 1962, Guo Moruoqi, then Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress, a famous historian, writer and poet, and his wife Yu Liqun tasted vegetarian dishes and wrote poems in Nanputuo, which made the vegetarian dish "half moon sinks into river" worth 100 times.
