薛家花園は1890年に建てられ、1894年に建てられました。清末の無錫籍の有名な思想家、外交家、ブルジョア維新派の代表人物薛福成の邸宅です。薛家園の中心軸は前後に6つの入り口があり、玄関ホール、セダンセダンホール、メインホール、ホール、ターンテーブルビルで構成されています。総面積は21,000平方メートルで、現在は12,000平方メートルを復元し、建築面積は6,000平方メートル以上を復元しています。建物のグループ全体は雄大で壮大で、清末の西風東漸の時代の特徴を体現しています。中西合壁の建築様式は中国建築史の空白を埋めました。

中国の家族の旧居は、おそらく最も中国式の古典を反映する場所であり、江南庭園の代表的な建物である無錫の薛家花園は、清王朝の最初の邸宅である薛福成の旧居(欽使第)です。
