We are glad that we booked this hotel. The beach view was breathtaking and remarkable. Not to mention its excellent location where the old town cobbled street is just right in front of the hotel. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast where they offered great selections and indeed one of the best breakfasts we've tried in our Portugal trip. Hotel staff were mostly friendly, especially those in the restaurant, except for the housekeeping staff who refused to give us extra drinking water on the next morning even before we checked out.
I am staying at the hotel Baltum at the moment and my boyfriend and I cannot fault it at all! Perfect location- it’s central to the Old Town, 2 minutes from the beach and very clean. Air con works great. The shower is perfect and the room is cleaned daily and towels changed daily if needed. As the location is central there is a bit of noise at night- but ONLY if you have your balcony door open though. The minute it’s shut properly you can barely hear anything- the rooms are very soundproof! I am currently 31 weeks pregnant so no late nights for us and we can sleep easy when we get back to the room for bed at 11;30pm. The hotel provides complimentary ear plugs out for you in the room, but we have slept absolutely fine without them. Only downside is no fridge- but we have used long life milk from the shop just outside for our tea and coffee in the morning. All in all we are so glad we stayed here, especially as it meant I didn’t have to walk far at all as everything is on your doorstep.
We had a decent holiday but our accommodation could not be described as 4 star.We were allocated 036 supposedly a superior apartment, we requested overlooking the pool and away from the road but that didn't happen. The apartment must be privately owned and rented out as most of the storage cupboards were locked. The apartment was in poor condition, door handles coming off, smoke alarm broken off,no cushions very basic and spartan.Wi fi non existant. Cleaning didn't happen every two days as stated in the info leaflet. We have been to Clube Albufeira several times but the service has deteriorated. No shuttle bus,no help with luggage and it is very hilly, not very user friendly. We have had some good holidays here but we won't be going again.aIts a shame .
Never again would I stay in this terrible place. It is only for 18-30’s type of people who want to party all day and night. The pool is absolutely filthy because some of the younger generation have no respect. Men whistling to the small amount of young girls as they walk about. Lads banging on peoples doors through the night so I didn’t feel safe, They say no stags or hens but the place is rammed with football groups instead. The rooms are basic and cleaned on a daily basis. I would not recommend this place to anyone who likes to sleep of a night and have a lie in. Pool area is just filthy aswell cigarettes stumps all over the place and sticky floor because of split drinks not getting cleaned up. The new town is not for anyone over 30 in my opinion.
Grounds with lots of pine trees, just nice to go for a walk, very good fitness classes, not busy (at least during our visit) , a good selection of restaurants on and off the grounds. I did not like the aquarium style bathroom and shower, no privacy, also lit up all room if used at night. But the room we stayed was large and well looked after. We used a tennis court daily, just next to our room. There was no kids club during our out of season stay, but our daughter was allowed to fitness classes with us and she really enjoyed it. On site restaurants are very good but a bit on expensive side, however there are few outside just 2 minutes n walk. The staff is always happy to help.
Excellent boutique hotel within a 3-5 min walk of the beach.Very clean and quiet with an excellent champagne breakfast.Tge pool and the grounds are spotless. Staff are fantastic especially Marco, one of the servers, always running but still very pleasant and accomodating. Also,Riccardo at the front desk, always there for you with a pleasant smile.Highly recommend.
A beautiful hotel in a central location - Vila Petra was a perfect place to stay for a week exploring Albufeira. My partner and I stayed in one of the self-catering apartments and found it to be the perfect base for our holiday; it was plenty spacious, maintained meticulously each day by the cleaning staff and felt extremely peaceful and private. We had no problems with any noise or disturbance whatsoever the whole time we stayed. Check in was quick and straightforward - we arrived a few hours before our room was ready and were able to store our luggage in a side room (my only concern would be that this was left unlocked and with the door open) and walk 5 minutes to the main *****, and a further 10 minutes along to the beach. Our room was fully equipped with everything we might need for our stay - apart from an iron and ironing board, but this was quickly brought to our room within 10 minutes of calling down to reception. Although we didn't spend too much time around the hotel pool, the time that we did was very relaxing. There were plenty of sunbeds available despite us not coming down from the room until late morning and the poolside never felt too overcrowded. As a couple who personally preferred spending the days on the beach and exploring the area, this hotel was located perfectly. The nearest beach is around a 15 minute walk away, there were plenty of restaurants and bars in the area surrounding the hotel (I would wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant Made in India, which is less than a 10 minute walk away, for delicious food at cheap prices) and Uber's into the Old Town and surrounding beaches were prompt and cheap - costing around €5 a journey. Despite the hotels proximity to the New Town nightlife, there was no noise or disturbance and it felt lovely and secluded. Overall, we had a perfect week at this hotel and would definitely stay here again on any return trips to Albufeira.
We were so looking forward to our trip after reading all the great reviews. The location is very quiet, few shops and bars but nothing special. The food was a good selection but was repeated every week, maybe a 2 week rota could be an option for guests staying more than a week. Friendly hotel and other guests were great and met some lovely people. Staff are very friendly and work very hard. The shuttle bus to the beaches were great and an added bonus.
ゲゲストSuper holiday! We have just spent 10days on half board here at the Porto bay Falesia. We had a fantastic time. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, bending over backwards to make the experience all the more pleasurable. We stayed in a sea view room on the 3rd floor and it was amazing! Great size room with lovely bathroom and rituals products. Cleaning staff were so lovely and kept our room spruced up throughout our stay. The food was really good. The selection was so good, always something for everyone, I prefer fish and my husband prefers meat and neither were disappointed. We also had a meal at il basilica which was great. We spent most of the week relaxing by the pool or on the beach and walking. The pool area is perfect for reading a book, plenty of loungers. The beach is accessed by around 120 steps which we loved but I can see they may be an issue if not so mobile or able. The beach is incredible! We walked to vila moura which took around 2 hours, had lunch and walked back. There was also a lovely walk along the cliff top in the other direction going via the town of olhos de agua. This walk was spectacular! It takes you all the way to Maria Luisa beach via a restaurant on the beach called passaro azul ( definitely worth a visit). We spent a morning at the indoor pool, sauna and steam room which was nice as it was raining outside. My husband also used the gym which was adequate. The town is sweet with a selection of restaurants and shops plus a small supermarket for supplies! All in all we had a fantastic 10days and will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff for making it such a great holiday!
Perfect hotel for what we needed. A couple of things weren’t so great but nobody is perfect. We stayed for 10 nights in October and the hotel had everything we needed. We had paid extra for a balcony room and that was exactly what we were given. It was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Enough toilet roll to keep a large family occupied for several weeks! There were enough towels, extra pillows and blankets and the tea and coffee station was replenished most days. The cleaning staff were hit and miss. Some did way more than others. Some made the bed properly, cleaned the bathroom and the floors and replenished everything. Others just replaced the towels and left. They were not shy in just walking into the room either, a couple of times my fiancé was in the shower and it could have been embarrassing. One day we returned to the room to change and whatever had been used to clean the tiled floor was super slippery and we both nearly fell more than once, very dangerous! The pool area was lovely and the staff were all over, keeping it clean and people happy with drinks topped up etc. The food was ok. Lots and lots and lots of fish so if you aren’t a fan then do not book here. Lots of variation and even pre-boxed sandwiches and snacks to take away if you were going out for the day. Breakfast was the worst with everything being cold so we just avoided this and went to the snack bar after 10am! We visited the BBQ restaurant one night and the food was lovely apart from the sardines which had not been cleaned or gutted so just tasted gritty! The staff were very attentive and were always working hard. There was one member of the bar team who was a bit over familiar with me and a tad too flirty for our liking. A bit sleazy really! We would stay again if we ever came back to Portugal but probably not if it becomes a family hotel and allows children and the quiet and relaxed atmosphere was probably our favourite thing!
CcztianyangLoved this hotel and would definitely go back. The hotel is a wee bit up the hill but walking distance to old town and *****. Taxi rank at the roundabout at the bottom of the hill if you don’t want to walk and about 5 euros from the hotel to either parts of town. Breakfast was excellent with usual wide range of choices: especially liked the porridge. Lunch snacks were also decent but never tried the evening buffet so can’t comment. Pool areas are heat with sunrise and sunset pools. Plenty of beds but may get busy in high season and with kids. Outside and inside bar and games room on the lower ground floor. Gym was very well equipped and quality machines and weights. Only gripe is there is no water in the gym and you have to buy it from either the shop or the bar. It was also warm and the air conditioning didn’t seem to be on. The desk seemed to be manned sporadically as well. There is also an indoor pool, squash court!!! and sauna and steam room: the steam room was very hot to the point it was almost scalding (for me anyway) and hot steam blasting in below your legs: only managed about 30 seconds before I had to come out. Sauna was great though. You only seemed to be able to get to the indoor pool by trekking through the spa area and back up the stairs even though there were doors out to the main outdoor pool area: never saw these doors open but they may be opened in high season. There seemed to be a spa area but this looked closed: again may be open during high season. Rooms were large and plenty of storage. Bed was a bit soft but that is personal taste. Wee on site shop was well stocked but pricy. There is a supermarket at the bottom of the road, about a 5 minute walk. All in all great hotel, very clean and staff were friendly, courteous and helpful.
When me and my twin brother were staying in Albufeira we stayed in the Luna Hotel Da Oura on R.de Dunfermline. This hotel is only a short walk away from the main ***** were there are many pubs/bars and restaurants and a fifteen minute walk to Albufeira's old town. The hotel has a nice reception area and a superb outside swimming pool and there's an indoor pool. The room we had (336) was clean and spacious (a little dated) but very well presented. The bed's were brilliant and the rooms cleaned everyday. The breakfast was varied and filling and the staff were 1st rate. A superb hotel in a superb area of this very lively resort and on our next visit to here we will stay in this fantastic hotel again.(This is my first review of the Luna Hotel Da Oura).
