ゲゲストMixed review.
Upsides:
- cheap stay
- short notice booking
- weren't a lot of other bookings so was very quiet
- room mostly clean, smelled like lemon the whole time we were there (overnight)
- great keyboard in entertainment room
- parking right outside the door of room
- new jug in room (still had new labels on it)
- beds very comfortable, enjoy the extra, fluffy blankets
- good value for money
- close to amenities
Room for improvement:
- no bathroom door, no window for the toilet, kitchen and bathroom seperated by a split curtain that is about 30-45cm off the floor and split doesn't close
- only one (open) rubbish bin in the bathroom which means any food/kitchen rubbish has to go in there
- couple of holes in walls, one small behind toilet door with toilet paper stuffed in it and one mandarin sized in kitchen next to microwave that was hidden by microwave
- soap holder hadn't been washed from previous stay, soap was unwrapped and there was residue in the holder, plus shampoo, etc bottles were at different levels not full. Not that we used them due to bringing our own
- signs say entertainment room open til 10, receptionist said it was closing in 3mins (just before 9pm). Then said he'd allow us in for half an hour to play pool - pool table a bit worse for wear but keyboard was great!
Overall, very grateful for the stay and would stay again but would probably ask for a room with a bathroom door if there's no window in the bathroom/toilet. Enjoyed the keyboard even though I can't play and the receptionist was nice. Place does everything you need it to, thanks Oakwood Manor for the stay
DDeevanyah FrostWe just had an unexpectedly delightful experience at the Waiheke Island Motel, so much so that we added another night because we simply couldn't get enough of the place! Our stay began with a minor hitch: arriving late in the evening to find our pre-booked studio room was locked. However, the way the night manager and the team handled this was truly remarkable. They quickly resolved the issue by giving us a significant, stress-free upgrade to a spacious whole house with four bedrooms instead of our original studio. This immediate, generous response demonstrated exceptional hospitality and turned a potential frustration into the highlight of our trip. The motel's location is ideal; it offers a wonderfully quiet and peaceful atmosphere, yet it's in very close proximity to both the shops and the beach. We appreciated the on-site pool and the spa options, and the minute's walk down to the community Saturday market was a fantastic bonus. Our only piece of constructive feedback relates to the spa itself—unfortunately, the cleanliness was not up to standard, which was a slight disappointment. Despite the minor issue with the spa, the exceptional service, comfortable accommodation, and prime location mean we had a fantastic trip. Crucially, the price was quite reasonably priced compared to other places on Waiheke, offering excellent value for money. We will definitely return to Waiheke Island Motel!
