Check in was fast and absolutely pleasant. We could check in an hour early. I will give over 10 stars to the staff. They are efficient, pleasant and with right hospitality mind. Our room was spacious, spot on. Good air-con and ample hot water. Big decent tv. Full shaving kit was there. In my previous review i have mentioned about the mattress being spring and sinking in the middle making it was hard to sleep but the next room’s mattress was good. Room rate included free breakfast and it was wonderful. There was a really good array. Perfect breakfast consisting of something for everyone. All the dishes we tried were absolutely delicious. Big points trom us. Room service meals we ordered were also really good. Location is great. Not far from the attractions. We had a great stay. We recommend them.

Simply the best! The Vietnamese manager was very helpful and considerate. I did the 3-day ”Easy Rider” tour with the Moung mountain people of Northern Vietnam, staying at their homes every night. ”Sone” was a fantastic tour guide who knew the area well and was very friendly with the Moung. Staying the last night at the Vietnamese manager's home, near the very famous camp of the Vietminh leader Võ Nguyên Giáp, we had an excellent meal and friendly chat. Frontier Hostel and Tours is definitely my ”go-to” stay in Vietnam.

Total Vietnam experience, the front rooms are basic but comfortable with the street life coming up at you on the balcony. The small rooms are best for an overnight stay before you catch the bus to Sampa (which they can help you with a ticket). Of all the places we stayed in Vietnam this had the best food. Scooters to rent and all the local help you need.
