Great service. Great location. Fantastic breakfast and even better tasting menu at 1621 Restaurant!! Highly recommend. Concierge, Gabriel, was very helpful. He set up a personal walking and driving guided tour with Roco. It was well worth it in order to get a nice tour of the entire city. David, the bellhop, was equally friendly and gave a tour of the hotel with an explanation of its history.
We had breakfast at the restaurant everyday during our stay and the staff was was helpful and accommodating. Moises was our server and was very friendly and attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.
BbdestijlFirst impression: very nice, clean, friendly. Beds are very comfortable. Food and drinks are great; very nice servers and restaurant manager is awesome! The only place to get air condition is your own bedroom. Otherwise plan t be sweating the entire time. Buy snacks and lots of bottled water before getting there. Unfortunately, some won’t tell you there’s an up charge for practically everything. Ironically, the front desk continuously told us to be aware of sellers at public beaches as they tend to quickly scam tourists. IE: the hotel offered airport transfer for a flat rate; upon arriving to the airport the driver provided no direction as to where to meet. Then was charged 25% more for making him wait. There’s no where in hotel grounds with air condition, except your own bedroom. The two tiny private beaches are a joke. It’s not the soft Caribbean sand, full of algae. They do offer boat rides to actual beaches. But what you’re paying for this hotel, they should (at the very least) offer complimentary rides to the nearest beach. Side note: DO NOT go to Playa Azul, you’ll never be left alone by in-your-face sellers, small dirty beach
I've been @ Santuario much longer than planned due to some health issue. So, I had the time to highly appreciate not only the hostel itself, the great vibe and atmosphere, the fantastic beds setup where you have plenty of space (!) plus an unusual total privacy, like you have a mini room inside a room, but especially the people: staff is great and really cares the guest, while sick I had a family like surveillance, especially Stefy ”la chica del bar”, Kathy (cleaning & kitchen) and Jose (maintenance) never missed supporting me and asking genuinely interested how I was feeling. In a difficult moment, I was in the right place, thanks them! One only thing disturbing me was, the aircon management: ok it was on only evening and night, quite usual, problem was a person feeling cold was enough to shut down the aircon for everyone... and it was hot then... i love freezing, ok, but a correct balance would be the best, suggesting who's cold to wear a t-shirt should work, and others won't sweat ;-)
ゲゲストAll rooms overlook a central courtyard, which is nice but not practical as people are always passing by so you can’t leave the window open as you get no privacy. The curtain is not a curtain but a rolling blind, so either shut or open. My room happens to be on the ground floor, where the restaurant is. It may be better on the other floors. So just artificial light.
There is also no desk in the room. Otherwise the room is decent and clean.
The breakfast is simple but good with coffees, juice some fruit and an omelette.
The place is secure and the reception have to open for you to go in and out. Location wise it’s pretty good as well as it’s within the wall but not where wll tourists hang out. Pretty safe
Check in strictly at 3pm even if the room is available 😅
2282catThis is a well managed hotel. The facilities are modern. The hotel is ideal if you have a car, or will move by taxi or Ub... since Cartagena's Transcaribe Public Transit does not reach ”La Boquilla” area. The beach is across a highway overpass. The breakfast is on the light side (there is no breakfast buffet) but reasonable in calories and well cooked. I loved the corn dough empanadas filled with meat, I had never tried them before and they were a treat. You can also have a two eggs omelette with coffee or two eggs any style. I praise the personnel at this hotel, and the vigilance of management. The beach across the highway is not for instagram, but that is one of the cleaner strips within the city of Cartagena.
This was my first visit to Colombia and it was a blast! This was due in large part to my stay at this Hampton Inn at Bocogrande Beach. Very nice hotel, great location, very friendly and helpful staff, they served the best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel which was complimentary. I spent a couple days on the rooftop pool and bar. There is a safe in the room. The hotel does not offer any rooms with a king size bed, no mini fridge but really no complaints. Everything was around the hotel. So many bars, restaurants, some casinos. I would definitely look to stay here again on my next visit.
ゲゲストThis property was a nice overnight before I headed back to the USA. Clean and comfy. Enjoyed the Balcony views. The Television could use a couple American channels and easier to navigate . Staff was helpful.
