Where do I begin? As soon as we walked in the lobby, I should have known…… The front desk was boarded up like a prison. Nearly impossible to hear what the clerk was saying. Asked for a quiet, clean room but ended up with the opposite. When asked about the breakfast advertised, I was told there is no breakfast due to Covid. Asked about the safety of the parking lot and was told it is “safe”. Yet no one asked for our car’s license plate number. The lot had garbage thrown all over with no gates or security cameras. The entire building, especially the only working elevator, smelled awful. The walls were dirty and the carpet in the corridor was stained and wreaked with odor. The room was not any better. The toilet seat was broken and the bathroom faucet leaked continuously. The shower head had hardly any pressure making it very difficult to bathe. There seemed to be all sorts of foot traffic outside our door and a certain individual who yelled and screamed on and off outside our door as late as 3am. We left early as we had plans in the morning asking the front desk to clean our room for our 2nd night. The beds were made but I found dark curly hair in one of the beds which did not belong to us. The type of people which we encountered in the elevator reminded us of a hotel with an “ill reputation”. These were not travelers but local people who used the hotel for “non-tourist” purposes. As if all of the above was not enough, we were awakened with the sound of a critter going through our backpacks on the floor at 2am. Turning the lights on, we saw a MOUSE run under one of the beds. Needless to say, we could not sleep the rest of the night even though we had removed everything off the floor but still could hear the sound of the mouse under the beds and dresser/tv shelf. Called the front desk just to give them a piece of my mind. The clerk seemed unphased and simply said, “Sorry”. I think this place should be shut down and only reopened after a major cleaning followed by an inspection by the health department. A very angry and frustrated client.
