Eighth Bastion Fort Kochi - a CGH Earth Experience

We really enjoyed our two night stay here. We were warmly welcomed with a cold drink and a cold towel. Our room was huge, comfortable and airy, as was the bathroom. It was lovely to have a variety of real teas in our room. The food was excellent and staff friendly and helpful. There is a lovely terrace, with a shaded area to eat or have a drink and a nice pool. The location is ideal - very close to shops, restaurants and the waterfront where the fish is brought in. We visited and bought a number of gifts from the Kochi Society - an initiative run by local women making and selling beautiful jewellery, handcrafts, textiles, spices and much more. Also well worth a visit is the small theatre to see the Kathakali traditional Keralan dance and the martial arts performances. The demonstration and explanation before each of the two short performances was really helpful in understanding it. We had booked the first performance which was fascinating so stayed on for the second and really enjoyed both.

A beautiful intimate hotel. I stayed in a comfortable twin room with fierce air conditioning overlooking the swimming pool. Comfortable bed. It had a huge bathroom with both bath and shower. The restaurant service was excellent I had both dinner and breakfast Both menus had extensive choices of food available.

Beautidul hotel in an fully renovated old mansion, with antique colonial furniture, a lovely patio with a swimming pool and the most polite and helpful staff I have come across India in this 21-day-long trip! Mimi was supernice! They included a tuk tuk tour in the fort area as well.

The hotel was fantastic. The rooms were nice. The staffs were very courteous and helpful. Housekeeping was good. Food was excellent. The swimming pool was neatly maintained and it had temperature controlled water. Our stay was worth the money.

This hotel is lovely and located very close to the beach in Kochi. The rooms are well appointed. The staff provided excellent customer service and offered a lovely welcome. The restaurant provided delicious Keralan food. We had a wonderful stay.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel. The staff were some of the nicest people in hospitality you’ll meet. The rooms were very comfortable and the pool is lovely. The food in the evening was outstanding and we ended up eating there two out of the three nights because it was so good.
