For my stay in Maastricht, I booked the first Hotel Sint Jacob, the sister Hotel Boutique Hotel Grote Gracht. Due to the impossibility of staying in that hotel, we unfortunately moved to this hotel. We traveled for a long time and were tired and happy that they could receive us. The room was on the ground floor, because my husband has problems with his knees due to the stairs, which were narrow and difficult to climb, so the option of a room on the first floor was not possible. The air in the room was stale and did not smell pleasant, but it was already late and we decided to stay. We both slept poorly, although the bed itself was not uncomfortable. The next day I complained about the accommodation, but they didn't have another room for us. The receptionists were friendly, but they couldn't help us. The room is poorly cleaned, there is a bad smell in the bathroom that spreads into the room. There was dust everywhere. There were no closets to store clothes. All in all, it is a negative experience to mark such accommodation with 3 🌟, and its sister Hotel Boutique Hotel Sint Jacob with 4 🌟. They have a modern check in/out system, but everything else is neglected.
My partner and I took a NS deal to stay at NH hotel in Maastricht. At first we were worried it's not at the city center as it was our first time visiting the city. It was very easy for us to reach the hotel from the train station. Well located with walking distance to train/bus stations. The hotel is very nice, and the staff were very friendly. We were happy about everything in the hotel. In particular, the breakfast was great !

I was with my husband and we celebrated the 2nd portion of our honeymoon, a wedding gift from our friends and family. Our check-in was smooth and the staff gave us an upgrade to a junior suite with a note and some deliciouschocolates. It was lovely but not very sound proof from other guests. The room could use a few updates as well but the view was beautiful. The property is gorgeous with the château, sculptures, church, rose garden and natural surroundings. We enjoyed our Saturday night dinner at the grill and the service was very good. There are limited dining options on Sunday evening if you don't wish to leave the property. I had a massage with Maureen and she worked wonders on a troublesome back problem. A true professional. The breakfast buffet was quite extensive with local products as well but very busy. Not a calm environment with large groups and an impolite guest on her phone but we appreciated the quality of the food, options and service team. We enjoyed our stay but felt that for such an incredible setting, there was a certain charm lacking with such a whirlwind of comings and goings. Perhaps a future stay but not during peak season.
After years of visiting this wellness, I made a booking for the hotel for Jan 1st to 2nd to start the year in full relax mode. It was a disappointment at best. First impressions are everlasting impressions in any business. Especially in the hospitality business. When anyone walks through the doors of a hotel, those first 2 minutes determines the entire perspective on their stay. My initial experience walking into this place unfortunately set a nasty outlook. We showed up an hour earlier then our booking foreseed, and thus, basically got told to ”take a hike”. Allow me to elaborate… During the booking, I was asked to put an “estimated time of arrival”, however, as an internationally travelling guest, it is obviously impossible to input an exact time of arrival. Little did we know that this was going to be such an issue. We got told that, because I had input 12:00 in the system as my ESTIMATED arrival time, we were not allowed to check in or access the spa. We were even told that the wellness spa was closed, and would only open at 12:00 since it was Jan 1st (Regardless if we paid 2 full days of access). I couldn't help but wonder, if this is the case, why even offer 2 days of access for those specific days? It’s basically selling something that will never be delivered… in my business that’s called theft. Now, when I asked what could be done to accommodate us, they told us basically to take a hike.... Yep, ”Ga wandelen” is what she said, to be exact. As pissed off as I was, I couldn't help but notice loads of people inside, some getting stuff out of rooms, going to drop stuff in their cars, and going to the wellness.... yet, for us, nothing could be done to accommodate us! Nothing at all..... so, 340 € for a one-night stay just can't seem to offer any flexibility in this hotel. Not even access to sit at a restaurant, nothing, nada, ziltch! So we went for amazing jetlagged hike across the village and came back an hour later! By the time we returned, there was a huge line up at the check-in desk. We waited in line. The gentleman at the check-in apologized and offered us a complimentary bottle of wine in remediation for the inconveniences caused earlier. He also told us that we could enter the first room that had been cleaned, which was immediately available. He escorted us to our room and offered some information about the hotel facilities. I got the impression that this young staff member understood what happened, and really wanted to make our stay enjoyable - (our complimentary to him, good hospitality!!) The hotel was modern and well kept, some renovations and upgrades had been made. Our room was clean and accommodating, good size and well furnished. Coffee in the room was great! The bathroom had a full-size bath and was very functional. However, very little soap was available. Thankfully, previous experiences dictate me to bring my own. We started our experience at the wellness spa – I will review the spa separately.
I chose this hotel as I did not want to pay significantly more in the centre of Maastricht. This hotel is great... parking is free, and they have a restaurant on premises as there is nothing else around. Having the room facing a runway it was surprising how quiet it was the whole night. I would stay here again.
Rooms are good but there's also absolutely nothing special about the room due to lack of decoration at all. There has been a huge missed opportunity as the room has a window to open but unfortunately no balcony to walk out or sit. The hotel is walking distance from Alden Biezen which is an amazing building and even part of the hotel has it routs in history but unfortunately nothing of that, or even the feeling, has been incorporated into the hotel and rooms. Breakfast was ok, even good, but some items like the scrambled eggs looked more like soup than eggs.

3 nachten op de begane grond een perfecte kamer. Deze was met terras aan tuinzijde. Heerlijk rustig en dus lekker geslapen in de goede bedden. Badkamer ruim met wastafel, bad en apart de douche met regen en hand douche. Wc gescheiden. Veel bergruimte en groot beeld flatscreen tv in de kamer. Koffie/thee set aanwezig. Ontbijt is uitgebreid, diner snel geserveerd en lekker. Vriendelijk personeel. Waren erg blij dat de motor binnen gestald kon worden. Echt service en komen hier graag terug.
Hotel exceeded my expectations for a week in Maastricht. The bed was super comfy, great water pressure in the shower, steady Wi-Fi and friendly staff. The hotel location was convenient to shopping and restaurants as well as transportation. I highly recommend Le Theatre Hotel.
We booked the grand room as advertised on ********** which was the largest room, with a city view and a large bath. We had been riding in torrential rain for hours and decided to treat ourselves. We were allocated one of the XL rooms, as soon as we walked it it was clear it was nothing like the photos and didn't even have a bath. Went down to question this with the staff. We we allocated a room with a bath. However this room was smaller than the first and had view of nothing really. Again I went to reception and asked why we weren't given the grand room we had booked. The man on reception said there was an error on the site, he said no XL rooms have a bath. I brought up the photo of the room we thought we had booked and asked where it is in the hotel and was told it isn't in the hotel. So save your money and don't bother trying to book the grand room, it doesn't exist. On going to bed we noticed the sheet on the bed has a hole in it. We have been offered complimentary breakfast and a partial refund to be confirmed in the morning. Oh and there's no washer & dryer to use, that was also advertised. We explained that we had booked this hotel for the specifics detailed on ********* if we had known it was false advertising we'd have booked elsewhere.
A beautiful place to stay - friendly, welcoming staff, a spacious room and an excellent breakfast. We stayed for 4 nights in April/May and were sorry to leave! We arrived around 10pm - later than expected due to delays on the train from Brussels - and checked in at the nearby Hotel Grote Gracht as the Sint Jacob is only open for check-in to 4pm. Everything went very smoothly and it was just a short walk between the 2 hotels. The room was very comfortable and nicely furnished, including a fridge and coffee maker. The bathroom was also spacious, with a good shower and plenty of hot water. The breakfast was excellent with the offer of bacon and eggs cooked individually for you. A wonderful range of fresh bread, sweet pastries, different cereals and muesli, fresh fruit, cheese and meat. We would definitely recommend this as a good place to stay in the historic centre of Maastricht.
Dit hotel voor 1 nacht geboekt, hadden een wonderbox kado gekregen en deze benut voor het boeken van dit hotel in hartje Maastricht, je kunt pas inchecken vanaf 16:00, wij kwamen aan rond 13:00 en er was een stel voor ons die vroeg of het al mogelijk was om in te checken, het antwoord een erg duidelijke nee We vroegen of we even gebruik konden maken van het toilet, deze was boven achterin het naast de receptie gelegen restaurant, toen we terugkwamen liep een muis in het restaurant die zich erg thuis voelde, toen we aangaven aan de man van de receptie die toevallig achter ons richting de receptie liep dat er een muis liep was zijn antwoord “dat het normaal was daar” Mmm ja right, ik weet het niet hoor…. Je probeert een voorstelling te maken van hoe de hotelkamer er dan uit zou zien….even wachten dan maar tot 16:00 16:00 ingechecked, kamer 5 bovenste verdieping aan de voorzijde De website van saillant hotels vermeld dat de kamers een update hebben gehad, volgens mij hebben ze kamer 5 overgeslagen of deze gebruiken ze voor boekingen anders dan via hun eigen website De dag dat wij er waren was het erg warm, er stond een dyson lucht koeler of iets dergelijks, adem halen kon je bij het raampje waarbij 1 kant niet open kon Sterk verouderde kamer, smerige kitvoegen in de badkamer, voegwerk van tegels hadden erook de brui aan gegeven Stekkerdoosjes omdat er iemand geen zin in had om een fatsoenlijk stopcontact te maken, sanitair zag er aardig recent uit Boeken in de zomer is geen aanrader, aangezien er geen airco aanwezig is Verder, de passie voor het vak van hotelier is compleet verdwenen, de voordeur gaat om 20:00 uur dicht, het restaurant totaal niet open gezien en had het idee dat de receptie ook om 20:00 het hotel uitgerend was, wat ik eigenlijk onvoorstelbaar vind dat er niemand aanwezig is als je in hotelkamers gasten hebt zitten…. Enigste voordeel van het hotel is dat het aan het Vrijthof ligt, jammer dat ze daar niet meer mee doen en dat in het vakantie seizoen…..
