The Paul Hotel NYC

Absolute worst experience. Room wasn’t ready - given keys and cleaning staff still in the rooms.

A pretty bad surprise awaited us as the Paul Hotel no longer is accessible to the public. A flurry of activities, both phone and e-mail, finally landed us at the TRYP by Wyndham. Forget the Paul Hotel!

They cancelled at last minute with no explanation. Trip put me somewhere else but I incurred additional$43 charge. Trip payed me back after several emails and phone calls.

Out of order, looks cheap ….. tiny hall…had to wait for getting another accommodation into a breakfast room not clean, hope they will arrange for a better look. Apart this location is quite good, Manhattan center

The hotel should be able to provide light breakfast. But the room service is good and the location is very close to any restaurant and entertainment area.

We spent 6 nights at the Paul. It was a private vacation stay and therefore the location between uptown and the greenwich / soho area is iedeal. Everything of importance is more or less in walking distance. The important subway lines 1, W and F are nereby. The hotel - even though not old - comes in a worn and shabby apperal: dust and dirt in the corners, stainy carpets in the floors. luckily no carpets on the floors in the rooms! When we checked in we have been given keys for a room which was already occupied - how could that happen? Finally we arrived in a prepared and free room: somwhow worn and dirty as well, not a single coat hook on a wall, no space for anything to put there in the bathroom. The wardrobe was dirty inside…. After the first night they did not clean our room - explanation: reduction of service due to 😷 ok. The other again no service. I complained again. Next day we had a cleaned room. That was the only time during our stay. Restaurant and bar of the hotel were not operated - no explanation why. Let me summarize: this was by far one of my worat hotel experiences after 35 years of travelling. Pleasebtry to avoid a booking of the Paul and avoid disappoin**ents

This hotel is definitely not a 4 star hotel. There was 4 of us staying here for 4 nites and the air con didn’t work. We complained every day and they eventually put a temporary air con system in the room on the last night. The rooms are not very clean dust everywhere and very little storage for 4 peoples clothes and cases. Reception staff not overly helpful and they were only leaving 2 towels everyday for 5 of us had to keep asking for additional towels. Aslo don’t see why bathroom door has a window in it as when you go to toilet during The nite the whole bedroom lights up. First hotel that has ever charged me to keep out bags on final day once we checked out when flight wasn’t until that evening.
