I have stayed for 4 days with my family. I loved the hospitality, service, hygiene rooms and ambiance. Thank you for making it a wonderful stay by ensuring no problems. It is Right next to botanical garden and ******* market. The price is justified. Staffs are really polite and helpful.
I had a wonderful check-in experience at the reception, where Sindhu warmly welcomed me and explained everything. I appreciate her kindness.Shweta's warm hospitality left a lasting impression. She greeted me with a traditional welcome, a refreshing drink, and a bright smile at checkin. she ensured I had everything I needed, particularly during breakfast. Her dedication to her work and genuine enthusiasm for making guests feel welcome are truly commendable. I greatly appreciate Shweta's activeness.My third-floor room offered a stunning view that exceeded my expectations. The room itself was well cleaned, and I was impressed with the hotel's amenities.Kudos to Chef Vijay for sharing a fantastic recipe! His passion for cuisine is truly inspiring.We enjoyed the evening tea tasting, which was expertly presented by the friendly staff. Facilities: It’s a small hostel with well kept rooms and washrooms. The dorms are definitely worth the price! They also have a private room available. The common areas are nicely decorated and they have books and board games. There’s an outdoor bonfire every night which is a highlight! They have a swing at an elevation above the hostel that has beautiful views of the town! Service: 5/5 for the friendly hosts and the service. They create a very happy and cozy environment, making it easy to mingle and meet new people! Location: around 1.5-2kms from the city centre. Walkable if you’re up for it otherwise autos are available. Cons: No common pantry or kitchen area, would have been a nice addition

I've stayed here during the first week of may and though this is not one of the best stays in ooty, there's nothing serious to complain. I've paid for 3 days and that's a bit much for this hotel. However it was the peak season so almost all the hotels are over priced at this point of time. The rooms were neat and over all hotel is maintained well. 24 hrs hot water facility is available. Road leading to the hotel is narrow and parking is very congested. I suggest not to prefer this if you are coming in own vehicles. Room service and restaurant could do better. It will take 15 mins walk, mostly flat surface except near the stay, to the market area where you have a couple of good restaurants and other shops. Overall it's a 3. 5/5 kind of stay.
This was the second time I stayed at the Savoy! It's definitely my home in the hills!!! I simply love the old world charm of the property! Kartik at reception, the servers at the restaurant & the housekeeping staff, everyone goes out of their way to give you the best experience. I enjoyed my stay at Derby Green Hotel Ooty with my family and found the staff to be very hospitable and prompt and helpful . Special mention to the staff member Mr. Dominic who was very kind to us and we had a great experience with him and was very helpful.
VVijayakumar G AFirstly, I was given a room in an extension block that seemed to have been built recently. It was modern but lacked the charm and character of a true heritage property. The main building, with its fireplace and historic ambience, was nowhere to be found. This was especially disappointing considering the premium price I paid, comparable to what you'd expect from a 5-star hotel.
The lack of attention to detail continued throughout my stay. When I checked in on a rainy day, I had to walk to the extension block without an umbrella despite the muddy road. The staff seemed unbothered by this inconvenience. Additionally, the room didn't have slippers, and the floor was cold, with no heating available (although they did provide a basic room heater when requested).
To make matters worse, I had to call the front desk to confirm my room for the second day, which should have been done automatically as part of their standard procedure. This lack of efficiency only added to my frustration.
The toiletries were also woefully inadequate, with only basic soap and shampoo provided. Power cuts were frequent, and I had to notify the front desk each time, which seemed like a hassle the hotel should have anticipated.
The breakfast buffet was uninspiring and lacked flavour. To make matters worse, I had dinner at their restaurant, which was rated top in Ooty, but my experience was average at best. To add insult to injury, they got our order wrong, substituting Nasi Goreng (fried rice) with Mee Goreng (fried noodles). When I brought this to their attention, they made no effort to compensate for the mistake.
In conclusion, Hotel King's Cliff fails to live up to its reputation as a heritage property or even a 2-star hotel. The overpricing and lack of attention to detail make it a poor choice for travellers seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Ooty.

The government botanical garden is only 250m from the hotel and access by walking. Really worthy within this price.

An awesome stay which made us feel cool and great at the residency.tasted good food and had a good service by their kind and polite staffs. It was a terrible experience for me and my family staying in this hotel. After doing some research and reading review, we booked this hotel after finding deal on TripAdvisor through Agoda @around 12K a day (19 May - 21 May). The booking was done for a 3BHK Villa. When we reached the reception, no one was there (First Surprise) . I had to wait for around 5 minutes and then the Receptionist cum Manager came. (Obviously when the reception was deserted so no one was there to pick my call). After that the check-in was smooth. The surprise started once we started going to the villa. The second surprise was that We had to cross the full muddy area to reach the room. In the way , we had to pass through , what seems like never cleaned stairs. The property badly needs maintenance. The Shock came when we saw that the room was not cleaned after the previous occupant might have left. The bedsheet and blanket covers were dirty. The hairs and all was still there. The bathrooms were dirty too. It was already dark and when we complained, attended (who came to leave us till room ) said that someone will come , but eventually no one came. Next Shock – In the evening power got cut and after waiting for couple of minutes, I thought to call the reception (hope against hope) but the intercom was dead. I had to walk till reception in dark and rain to check what is happening. They said that last night the wires got cut and hence the intercom is not working for my villa. The manager gave his cell number to contact whenever I need too. He also informed that the generator is there but they are arranging the Diesel to start it up. Next Shock – We ordered the dinner from the hotel , the food was half cooked. Finally I had to order in night via Zomato/Swiggy. Next Shock – They do not have any travel desk who can arrange a taxy for you (anyway this one is comparatively smaller shock 😊) But the manager called an Auto next morning. Next Shock – In the morning, the plumbing of two of the three bathrooms went wrong. So we all whole family used Single Bathroom). While going away, I informed Vincent about all issue, (cleanliness and bathroom) and he assured that he will do something. This is different that when I returned in evening, the same bedsheet were on the bed. The bathroom plumbing were fixed only to be broken next morning. Next Shock – Vincent is the Manager cum receptionist cum full in-charge , but getting him was a big challenge. Most of the time he was no in the reception and not picking his cell phone. My intercom was still not working till I checked out. Only good thing that , they allowed my car to be parked till 1 PM on the check out date . I really appreciate it. Overall : It was an overly priced and a poorly maintained and managed resort. Far from city and finding any means to get out from here is a challenge . Very bad experience for me.
