Excellent stay in the north of Puglia. Very warm welcome and very cosy and relaxing holiday. Outstanding breakfast and dining options. Nice selection of wines. And very friendly staff. We will come back, can't wait

We stayed here for four nights on our driving tour of Puglia. The superior room was very clean, comfortable and had a large balcony over looking the bay. Breakfast is extra , the choice of food is excellent and well priced, best omelettes I have had. Evening meal was limited to two choices but always good value, served with great views over the bay and sunsets. The hotel is spotless, hosts very friendly, exceeded our expectations and great value too. Local Peschichi is lovely to walk around the old town, the torture exhibition is not to be missed! Our favourite beach was 25 mins drive away at San Lorenzo just before Vieste. Sun beds and umbrella. 10 euros and lovely restaurant. Fantastic location and highly recommend this hotel.

We are staying at this magnifificient hotel for 5 nights as part of exploring Puglia. We were greeted by our hosts Marino & Antonio who made us feel so welcomed, they took the time to present us the hotel amenities & the surroundings - beautiful! We then went to our room and discovered a beautiful and very large room and and huge balcony overlooking the valley and the bay - just like the pictures and even better! We stayed for dinner at the bistrot, definitely underpayed - the food was delightful, savory and fresh - cooked perfectly by Marino. Antonio took care of the wine, his selection was perfect - just like he could read our minds! We loved it so much we came a second time. And the food was delicious again! We've stayed at hundreds of hotels across the world, this one qualifies in the top ten! If you want a taste of Heaven, this is it!

What an amazing place. Beautiful views over the sea and mountains. Newly refurbished rooms. We had a suite overlooking the sea with a massive balcony. hosts were really friendly and helpful, recommending a lovely beach nearby. We ate at the restaurant every night of our 3 day stay and had beautiful home cooked food. We were sad to leave.

We stayed at Marino and Antonio's lovely place for 6 nights and loved every minute of it. Location: It is a small (16 rooms) family run hotel/albergo, situated in the hills just outside Peschici. There is a lovely outdoor seating area, where you can have your dinner and enjoy a fantastic sunset. Same place breakfast is served. You need a car to get around, and there is shaded parking at the premises. There is also the option of a taxi, which we never used, so can't comment on it. Food: Marino was a great cook, the food he made was simple and delicious - made with excellent local produce and love! Both Antonio and Marino were very knowledgeable and helpful with choosing from their fantastic selection of local (Puglian) wines. Breakfast is a la carte and equally delicious. There is also the option of drinks/aperitivos in the afternoon. Pool: Great pool! Room: The room we had was a double Comfort - located on the 1st floor (2nd if you're from the US). It was really nice and big, very clean and with a wonderful terrace with great views. Antonio and Marino made us feel really welcome throughout our stay, and we could always come to them with questions about local restaurants, things to see and do etc. We also really liked the fact that they try to run their hotel in the most sustainable way possible. They really were the perfect hosts! Negatives: The fact that our holiday and stay at La Locanda della Castellana had to end, we would have loved to stay even longer! In summary, we loved it and have found a place we will always remember fondly, and definitely will come back to in the future. Grazie mile Antonio and Marino!

Every now and then you find a special place. This is it. The Peschici and neighbouring Vieste are best described as beach towns --- with some of the best sandy/warm beaches in Italy. It's the place where southern Italy goes to spend lazy days during the summer by the beach. The whole area has this great friendly family vibe that simply consumes you. The hotel itself has very large rooms with wondeful large terraces with stunning views of the mountain and Aegean sea. The breezes at night are incredible as you eat dinner and drink wine while listening to a great dinner appropriate playlist set up by the owners. Dinner is bistro style, which means its limited in selection but delivers in quality and taste. A bottle of fantastic-local wines range in the 17 euro range and dinner is very reasonable. Do yourself a favour, stay here for dinner every night. There is no reason to go anywhere else including the picturesque town of Vieste. (Obviously go to Vieste one morning, take some pictures, have a lunch and come back to the hotel. Its about 1/2 hour drive from the hotel to Vieste). Breakfast is pay as you go --- very good traditional menu with egg based breakfast around 2-4 euros. Of all three hotels we stayed at in Italy during our tour of Naples, Procida and Puglia, the service here was simply the best. It was so wonderful to see two young men take so much pride in there place of businesses and the quality of the guests enjoyment. The added bonus is Gina! Just like the Fairmont, the hotel has a concierge dog. Gina is wonderful and adds a wonderful charm to this magical place. The pool area is fantastic if you don't want to go to the beach. Yes you have to wear a cap, its local rules, get over it, put the cap on, and take a picture of yourselves and have a good laugh. Our only mistake is that we didn't stay longer --- we stayed three nights instead of four. This would allow us one more day at a local lido the guys recommended. 10-15 minute drive from the hotel, beautiful golden beach with very warm waters, 15 euros for two two chairs and umbrella and just an amazing cafeteria style restaurant that serves every fish and pasta you could ask for --- the clam pasta was amazing. If you come to this remote but wonder part of Puglia, there are so many hotels to choose from, but only one place to stay, and this is it.
