Best Western Amarys

Stayed here for two nights. Plenty of parking, which is free, and very quick to check in. Room was good and very clean had a ground floor room so had a door that opened to the outside which was beneficial as there is no aircon in the rooms. Bathroom had a very big shower but other amenities were quite cramped. Location is ok, on the outskirts of the town. There are two negatives about the hotel first is the breakfast. For 14€ you get a small selection of breakfast items. If you want bacon and eggs you have to cook it yourself and considering you are in France they have these little sweaty packets of cheese (or should I say plastic). They even have babybel!!! as one of the options. Secondly whilst I was staying they had a wedding in the restaurant whilst I did not have an issue with the unavailability of the restaurant the very loud music continued until 4am. I was in a room that was quite a distance and I could still quite clearly hear it.

The rooms were reasonable, beds comfortable and clean. However we were booked as a party of 36 to have dinner on the Saturday and chose to eat as a party on the Friday as were advised the local restaurants were a fair walk away. The restaurant could only offer a set menu which was almost inedible, the following night we had a choice of veal risole and tagliatelli, very little sauce and no oils. very disappointing. However this followed a queue for drinks as the staff were not serving whilst the four of them were eating there own meal in the restaurant, no one was available to serve pre dinner drinks. If you did not have the correct cash the drinks bills were printed out on computer. I have never stayed at such as disorganised hotel.

Clean but very small rooms with very poor space for hanging clothes. Comfortable beds and Staff efficient on check in and out. Reason for poor review is totally inadequate restaurant(separate review).main shopping centre is about a mile away with plenty of variety of shops and places to eat

This is probably the worst hotel we have ever stayed in, we were on half board basis at breakfast the power kept cutting of so could not make toast, boiled eggs or pancakes. The dinners were a set menu and extremely poor the final night of our stay the dinner was inedible several of the guests walked out and went across the road to eat in a local restuarant. I have complained to Best Western but they have just said that they tried to get a response from the hotel but failed and therefore there was nothing more they could do.

We were happy to find the Hotel Amarys, the staff was beyond friendly and helpful. Every member of the staff we came in contact with morning or late night all gave the same amazing service. The room was clean, and vere sufficient. Breakfast is delicious.Pillows are wonderful.It is also in a great location as far as proximity to town, trains, and shops. While being close to everything it was still a quiet location. I hope everyone else has as great an experience as we had.

The hotel is going through a major renovation, which is understandable, but some notice would have been appreciated so you can make a decision. There is dust everywhere, and it gets on all belongings. The rooms are small and very basic. A small kettle, and a clock - but you have to unplug one to use the other. The soap for the hand wash had run out. The rooms don't get cleaned while you stay, and towels are not changed, despite putting a sign on the door to request a fresh towel after 2 nights. The restaurant is really affected by the changes, with a knocked down wall through. Breakfast was very basic but still expensive. Perhaps useful for people to know, that there are several supermarkets just behind.
