Had 2 nights at the Bateman's Arms and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay The room was very clean and spacious The staff were excellent and helpful and we had a very nice meal on the Friday evening also the breakfast was very good overall we had a great 2 nights and we will return if we are in the area.

Been here a few times but last night was disappointing. Dish came out and looked spot on. Ordered smothered chicken, it was a breaded piece of chicken with a bit of cheese which was overcooked. Hardly any bbq sauce. £17.95 what a rip off! Salad was nice But to also have a service charge added on. I normally leave a tip but at my own discretion. Not sure I will return again.

Had the pleasure of staying at the Bateman Arms - Shobdon last night for a work trip, nothing was too much trouble for Mike the owner, the food he prepared was incredible, I’ve honestly never had a mixed grill as nice at that. Breakfast was great with excellent quality meats. This is a gem of a place and I hope to stay there again soon. Thanks for a brilliant stay

Booked for evening food Friday night glad as Cound not get into the pub we wanted to . Glad we booked as it was very busy. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was lush and the afters just as nice. Nice seating out side. All very clean. Nice section of beers ans cider .

Lovely spacious rooms, really comfortable bed, everything you’d need was provided. Housekeeping staff were exceptional. Great food in the bar, lovely staff and great service. Would highly recommend a stay and look forward to visiting again.

Food was absolutely delicious, chilli beef strips and Cajun chicken starters were amazing, then burgers for main, desert was on the specials board, banoffee waffle, top quality, wish I had taken some photos. We are just nearing the end of our two week holiday and wish we had been before. We drive passed all the time but from the outside it always looks closed, until I looked it up online and realised it is actually open and serving food from 12 until evening which is unusual but good for us, as after a day out we are sometimes looking for somewhere to eat a bit earlier, especially if we have missed lunch and most places are closed. We will be back when we are next in the area.

Found the place with no issues and loads of parking space available. No signage to say where reception was until you found it around the back. needs better signs showing where it is from the car park. Barman checked me in and pointed the way to the room. I was staying 4 nights. Room was great once I shoulder barged the badly fitted door to get in. So far OK ish. However, the next day I returned to my room around 9pm to find it as I left it in the morning. the barman didn't know what to say when I confronted him so he went to see the Manager. The Manager didn't bother coming to see me but told the barman that I should have requested the room serviced otherwise it would not be the entire stay. Now I don't mind this rule but it should have been pointed out when I arrived by receptionist / barman !!! And I would have said to service the room every day. So as they could do nothing for me I had no tea/sugar/milk, shower gel, clean towels, made bed or empty bin. This is where you lose all your plus points. So after requesting the room be serviced every day - I still didn't have any shower gel replaced or an empty bin and the bed was just pulled over and not made on every other day. The one plus was as the cleaner on the second day couldnt lock the door as it couldnt be closed shut they left it unlocked so anyone could have gone into the room and helped themselves. On the last night I found the door had been fixed and did now close properly. These people may know how to run a pub but they know nothing about customer service in a hotel I will not be back

Stopped here for a casual lunch. Warm welcome. Superb Caesar Salads and a delicious portion of triple cooked chips on the side to share. Generous portions. Cheerful service. No complaints at all! We will be back!

I came here today with my partner the service was fantastic and very friendly nothing was to much And wow the food was absolutely stunning full of flavour and the presentation was lovely aswell I'm a chef and I'm extremely fussy but I must say I will 100% return bang on 👌
