ゲゲストI would highly recommend this homestay for anyone looking for an authentic and peaceful experience of Miao culture and village life. Particularly compared to nearby Langde village, this village (Nanhua village) is much less commercialised with friendly locals and relaxing scenery. The bedroom was very comfortable, although I will note that the toilet was a squat toilet (not an issue for me but maybe for others).
The boss was very enthusiastic and helped me organise transport around the area as I didn't have a car, and I was even able to share a homecooked meal with his family and some locals.
PPaul. SHotel about 10mins walking distance, directly in front of Kailinan. Rooms are clean, big with sofa, table, desk and chair. Usual amenities. Bath has enclosure. 2 hooks in toilet/bathroom for hanging clothes. Great. Comfortable stay. Washing machine inside toilet near reception. No dryer. Simple tasty breakfast of a bowl of noodles and an egg. Many eating places nearby. A few doors away is a shop selling buffet mix rice with about 10 dishes for 12 yuan/pax. Tasty and cheap.
JjanoschkaI stayed in a basement room, it smelled like cigarettes but otherwise the area was clean. I didn't need or wanted to spend a lot of time in the room. Really close to the railway station (South Kaili) which was convenient. There is a shuttle bus service in front of the station to get to xijiang village for 40RMB. If you need a cheap option for a single night go ahead, but you'll get what you pay for.
HhironakataRelatively close to Kaili south railway station. There are lots of restaurants near the hotel, and you can enjoy eating at cheap prices. For Xijiang Miao Village, you can take a direct bus or shared taxi from Kaili south railway station. To Kaili city center, you can take a local bus.Staff are so kind and friendly.
