We were looking for an experience in a rural village away from the usual tourist tracks, and this was the perfect place for it. The host was incredibly welcoming and generous with his time. He shared a lot about Miao culture and traditions, and took us around the village to show us where he grew up and where he and his family live.
He kindly helped us with transportation to the station, and his brother prepared a delicious dinner made from locally grown ingredients. The accommodation itself is comfortable, clean, and has attention to details. Surrounded by the beautiful nature of hills and fields, it felt both peaceful and authentic. We truly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this wonderful place!
I stayed in a basement room, it smelled like cigarettes but otherwise the area was clean. I didn't need or wanted to spend a lot of time in the room. Really close to the railway station (South Kaili) which was convenient. There is a shuttle bus service in front of the station to get to xijiang village for 40RMB. If you need a cheap option for a single night go ahead, but you'll get what you pay for.
