We put average of this review but would lean towards poor experience. We also went with family and friends. At the start at the airport, we booked and paid for transfer from airport and an ocean view at resort. We did not have a transfer available at airport, nor did we get ocean view (until 4 days after arriving). Trying to contact original person that took our money was a waste of time. This is NOT how you want to start your holiday. We have been at resort a many times. Rooms are very dated, bathrooms are not as clean as they could be, although the maids certainly work with what they are only provided. Toilet not working on first day in second room, no cold water, then later in visit no water at all. Eventually got fixed. Air Conditioner sounded like jet engine, never got fixed. Phone not working at times. When raining water poured through the door all the way passed bathroom (dangerous). Perhaps weather proof the doors. Toilets by pool areas often plugged and not fixed during day, toilet by main pool in Akumul was disgusting during day trying to accommodate pool users as well as beach area. Garbage in tree area behind our building sat for 2 1/2 weeks before picked up. A bathing suit and towel on back behind building for the whole 3 weeks of visit. Fridge in room could not accommodate a large bottle of water. Bookings at Ala carte restaurants were not accommodating, we booked for 11 people and tables were never set up for us and then when we arrived they could not accommodate us. This was even after we talked to guest services prior to the sitting with our request. All inclusive if you paid extra for food or wine, but not all inclusive. Food at buffets were often cold and/or not restocked. Often not signs to indicate what food was what. Tulum buffet/restaurant was iffy with all the coati and birds in restaurant area on tables, roaming around above the tables, very unsanitary and wondering if we should eat anything at all. Pools not cleaned as normal on a regular basis. We seen one day with a person with net clean pool by Dolci Vita. No vacuuming sand etc. 24 hours snack bar, not 24 hours. Trolley trains very slow between spots to go to. A positive, was we did speak to a Valentina from guest services and she made every effort to help us out, kudos to her as she was a big help on getting a few issues done. Also our maid and person that stocked fridge was amazing the whole time.

We had an amazing time at Tago for our honeymoon. We stayed for 9 days. The rooms were beautifully situated right on the beach with private pools. They were also very big, comfortable and had air conditioning. It was not too busy being low season, which was perfect as it felt like everything was just for us. The food was amazing and the staff really went out of their way to make sure the trip was perfect. Betty helped book trips, activities and anything else with needed, she was amazing! Also supported by Luis and the great bartender Aimee who made some unique tasty drinks. We received desserts to the room each night and welcome messages in the sand every morning. The location was perfect and allowed for a 15 minute walk down the beach to other restaurants and cafes. Could not have asked for a better experience.

We had a great time! Plenty of activities to do in plenty of things to see oh just a wonderful location. My only complaint is I was in Kassav four and the ice machine was never repaired the week I was there. I have to make that statement because it’s such an inconvenience to go to the other castles or qualifies so it’s all a complaint,

There is a reason Condé Nast travel ranked this beautiful resort in the top 3 of Eastern Mexico! It’s amazing, the property is kept immaculate, the service is unmatched. We had the ceiba club experience tbh I can see why families might find that aspect appealing but in the future we will skip this upgrade

The positives: The rooms were beautiful and modern. The hotel location was excellent. Probably a decent choice if you only need one room. The cons: I celebrated a milestone birthday and had a larger reservation. I had an incredibly frustrating experience at this hotel. First and foremost, the hotel failed to reimburse me for rooms that were canceled, despite their cancellation policy clearly stating they would do so. I reached out multiple times for a refund, but they ultimately refused to honor their cancelation policy. After many texts, and emails with Angel (finance) and Emmanual (concierge) who agreed that I should be refunded, the process dragged out to over 2 months with excuse after excuse. I finally resorted to asking my credit card company to dispute the charges, and was promptly refunded. Out of the 5 nights we stayed, our penthouse only had hot water for 1 night. The other rooms in our party also experienced cold water the first night of checkin. The hotel had to call a maintenance person twice to troubleshoot the cold water issues. The shower design is horrible. Water runs everywhere when you shower. The brand new sink fixtures of 2 years were taped, because water sprayed from the kitchen faucet. The concierge service was another massive letdown. It was clear the concierge is not equipped to handle a larger reservation. I made several requests for assistance prior to arrival, but responses were either slow or non-existent until I repeatedly followed up. The days when Emmanual was free to help, we were able to secure reservations for transportation and a couple of restaurants. He did make some good recommendations. Our special event was mishandled, with important details being overlooked or ignored, making what should have been a memorable occasion a hassle. We were scrambling to find rooms where the private chefs could cook because the hotel did not have a proper kitchen, and we had to ask each guest to bring their own silverware and plates to dinner. If you lose your room key, the hotel doesn't have updated technology to open your door without calling a locksmith because they only have 2 physical keys per room. This outdated system added another layer of inconvenience to an already frustrating stay. This hotel is severely lacking in many areas. I would advise anyone looking for a smooth, enjoyable experience to look elsewhere. I would also strongly advise any potential investors to look elsewhere. The hotel's lack of modern systems and inefficient processes make it an unappealing investment opportunity. New staff personnel would be required to run this investment effectively and honestly to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience that will generate long-term profitability.

I visited Dreams Tulum in August and am still thinking about what a great experience we had. Upon arrival we were a little bit early, they did not have our room type ready but gave us a room in an amazing location, barely a minute to both the pool and the beach. The room itself was fine, not the most modern but definitely clean and usable and I didn't come here to sit in the room. Everyone we encountered went above and beyond to help us with what we needed. I brought my child multiple times to the Explorers club and Mariela and the other counselors were incredibly friendly and had such fun activities for the kids. My child was excited to go there and do arts and crafts, play in the amazing kids pool with slides, have movie night, pinata night, and more. As for dining, the regular buffet foods were adequate but in the buffet they had multiple stations where they cook and grill foods for the night. There were locally caught fish and shrimp, chicken, steak, tons of options! I didnt get to try all of the restaurants but what we did have was delicious. I traveled with someone with a ton of allergies and cant handle cross contamination. In the Italian restaurant, Linmhi, truly went out of his way to make sure she had an amazing and beautiful meal that met the standards of her allergy diet. The waiter captain whose name escapes me (maybe Miguel? tall slender gentleman) also made sure she had appropriate food at every meal. It was heartwarming to know that we could be cared about and accommodated in such a way when they have so many guests to look after. The beach itself was beautiful, to the left was definitely more rocky but to the right it was easy swimming. There were kayaks to borrow and if you wanted to take scuba excursions they have a company there to help you. I only went to the larger pool because it was more fun for my child and had the swim up bar. I would not hesitate to go back again!
