Varberg Stadshotel is a cosy and peaceful hotel with a friendly staff. But beware of thieves in the Asian Spa. You are encouraged to leave your belongings in a unprotected locker room in a basket put on shelves. When I came back from the Spa all my clothes were gone and my friends belongings were moved around. When I reported this to the staff, I was met with mistrust and indifference. They promised to investegate, but never came back to me. I wrote the manager at the hotel and he promised to take the matter serious. Only to return with a email that implied that I didn´t bring my belongings in the first place and must have forgotten them at my room. I didn´t loose anything of real value. But I could have. The worst part is, that the Hotel did not believe me, they did not take the matter serious and they implied that I did not bring my clothes to the locker room. My advice is, that you enjoy the Hotel and the Spa. But dont leave anything in the locker room. Theft is possible in the Hotel and the staff will not help. They will deny that it is even possible.

Beautiful hotel in so many ways. Stunning building, great location , wonderful spa. The down side. Rooms have no phones and thats a concern with such a large building. What if you are ill in the night? Nothing in English not even the spa menu or labels in breakfast area and Disorganised restaurant with few staff. Needs a separate bar.

My second visit to this hotel because it’s a beautiful and charming place and location is very nice. However, the issues I found in my first visit are still here. . Why don’t they have somebody supervising breakfast? People stand at the entrance waiting for attention and no one comes. There are no menus no instructions, and you have to hunt everywhere to try and compose your breakfast. Also no spa menu or details in rooms in English. Could be so much better.

Last room in town paid the price 260 euro for bed and breakfast. Fantastic room as price commanded. Receptionist could have been more polite but hey ho can't win everything. One night if true luxury. I am sure booked in advance cheaper rooms

This hotel looks wonderful from the outside and in reception area, but inside it’s a bit of a maze. There are confusing array of staircases and lifts and you almost need someone to take you to your room. Everything was immaculate here and the staff are friendly. But again the breakfast area was disappointing. We were there for 45 minutes could not find any staff to help or assist plus the selection of food and drinks is scattered all over the place. I really do think the management need to appoint someone to take care of breakfast guests and get the food into one area.

As a very experienced and well traveled hospitality expert I have visited a lot of hotels and spas. And it takes a bit to impress me. But I was so impressed but VS 😀 the service, the rooms, the spa, the food - yea everything was amazing 🤩 Upon arrival I was greeted by a very service minded receptionist who had prepared my schedule and was fully aware of what I was going to do for the 3 days I was visiting. My room was perfect 🤩 the layout and the bed was great. The sustainable initiatives are very welcomed and needed. The Spa! What to say. I am impressed by the luxury and how many things are included in the basic package. It’s very clean and Japanese. Tranquillity and peace must be the keywords. Only downside is that not all guests comply with the idea of silence or soft conversation 🤷🏻♀️ The dinner experience in both restaurants where very tasteful and again the service was impeccable. I highly recommend a stay at Varberg Stadshotell och Asian Spa. I will definitely be back soon 🙂

This is a fantastic restaurant- the food and atmosphere is great. However, the management and staff could do with some awareness of social differences. Wine glasses on the tables for brunch as standard for any drink, even for children - is completely insensitive. Children should NOT be given the message that they are being conditioned to drink wine, or else it's not festive! Furthermore, we had 2 recovered alcoholics in our party. Get some nice glasses suitable to what is being served and be aware of the messages you are giving. I am absolutely sure its something you could do to perfection.
