ゲゲストThis place is a bit of a hidden gem. I paid less than the price of nearby budget hotels and got a lot more. Nunsmere is a country house hotel, tucked well back off the main road in it's own grounds, so the situation is very peaceful. Loads of free parking right at the door. My room was huge with a large well equipped bathroom, big comfy bed etc. The restaurant is fine dining which I didn't want, so ate in the bar which serves a range of light meals. Breakfast next day was very good and served by helpful and pleasant staff.
There was a wedding on when I arrived and another the next day and I can see why this is a popular venue for smaller celebrations, but it didn't disturb the regular guests.
All in all, if you need to stay in this area, I'd recommend Nunsmere Hall. It's a 'proper' hotel and as a solo female traveller, I felt very safe and relaxed there but it would also be great for a weekend stay for a couple.
