I recently stayed at SCP Hilo and, overall, I found the experience to be underwhelming. While the service was decent, there were several drawbacks that made the stay less than ideal. The hotel is located very close to the airport, so noise from early-morning flights was constant and began as early as 4AM. On top of that, many guests were leaving for early flights, which meant lots of door-slamming and hallway noise at all hours. The room itself was quite small and dated, with no real view—just a window that looked into the interior courtyard. Unfortunately, this compromised both privacy and quiet, as anyone walking by could see directly into the room. One major downside was the additional daily ”amenities fee,” which felt excessive considering the limited offerings. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, especially if you’re looking for a peaceful or private stay.
