イギリスカンブリアの3つ星ホテル

12月26日から2泊の素敵な休暇を過ごしました。ホテルのスタッフはフレンドリーで親切で、地元の情報やおすすめの散策スポットを教えてくれました。朝食は値段に見合った価値があり、ベジタリアンとビーガンの両方に対応しています。敷地内に駐車場はありませんが、地元のクリケットクラブの駐車場が1日わずか2ポンドで利用でき、徒歩4分と便利です。滞在前の連絡もありがとうございました。大変感謝しています😊

I have grave misgivings about hotels in the busiest parts of the Lake District, especially at holiday times. Obviously they will be relentlessly overcrowded, with harassed and unfriendly staff. I’ve wanted to go back to the Proper Lake District for a while though so took a risk on the King’s Head. It’s easy to find on the ear popping main road up from Grasmere, just beyond the impressive hulk of Steel Fell, close to Thirlemere. Parking anywhere in the Lakes is hideous and expensive. Not here. Relaxed and plenty of room. It’s a long building with a pleasant bar restaurant area and beer garden. I found a rather pleasant residents lounge where a lady called Jo checked me in and made me feel welcome. It does get busy with passing trade but the staff look after their residents. They flogged me decent real ale and Jura whisky (the proper stuff). Breakfast is briskly table served from a menu and is well presented. I didn’t eat otherwise there but the food is popular and well priced. The road outside is busy and a bit of a racetrack, and the occasional fighter jet roars between the mountains on low altitude practice, but the relentless bleating of the sheep opposite soon returns things to normal. I was a little sorry to depart, but the manager said he hoped I would come again. I believe I will, and will even bring my wife.

朝食は美味しく、周囲の環境も良く、交通の便も良かったです。唯一の欠点は、部屋の暖房が時々点いたり消えたりすることと、ホテルと予約プラットフォームの間で意思疎通がうまくいかなかったことです。プラットフォームの提案に従い、3泊で2つの異なる部屋タイプを予約（1日目と2日目は部屋A、3日目は部屋B）しましたが、ホテル側は私たちが1部屋（より安い部屋）しか予約していないと言い、もし私たちが強く主張しなければ、価格差を無視して同じ部屋に3泊連続で泊まらせてくれるような気がしました。結局、問題は解決しましたが、それでも少し不満を感じました。

The room is clean and tidy. Surrounding is quiet and comfortable. Attendants are nice and helpful. Breakfast is fresh, delicious, with plenty of choices.

I arrived on a stormy night in the lake district - on entering the hotel I was met with a warm glow from the log fire and a very warm welcome from the receptionist. As the hotel dining room was about to close, a room was sorted and the kitchen kept open for an evening meal - a delicious melt in the mouth steak was a pleasure after a 6 hour drive from the south of england, washed down with a welcome glass of Shiraz. The bed was very comfortable, the room had a large bath and separate shower cubicle and copious hot water. The decor and fittings were in sympathy with the age and history of the hotel, a pleasant change from the blandness of more modern mass market hotels. The staff were very friendly and it was a pleasure to be assisted without having to use automated impersonal systems. I will not hesitate to stay at the hotel again when I am next in the area.

湖水地方の丘の中腹に位置するホテル。美しい外観、庭園、そして広大な芝生を備えたマナーハウス風のホテルで、その景観は息を呑むほど美しいです。当初はクラシックツインルームを予約していましたが、美しい景色を楽しみたかったため、写真を見てクラブツインルームに追加料金を支払いました。とても楽しみにしていたのですが、到着してみるとがっかりしました。エレベーターは1階（中国では2階）までしか上がらず、私たちの部屋は2階でした。Ctripのタクシー運転手に荷物を運んでもらうよう頼まなければなりませんでした。そして中に入ると、写真とは全く違っていて、予約していたクラシックツインルームよりもさらにひどい状態でした。ソファはありましたが、コーヒーテーブル、机、椅子はありませんでした。フロントに連絡しましたが、スタッフはレストランのサービスと並行して忙しく、私たちが通ろうとするたびにベルを鳴らして待たなければなりませんでした。フロントはCtripの写真が間違っていたと主張し、間違いを否定しました。結局、クラブツインルームに案内され、他に空室はありませんでした。そのため、仕方なくチェックインするしかありませんでした。16泊の旅行の中で最悪の夜でした。ありがたいことに、Ctripが後日介入し、差額を返金し、補償金を支払ってくれました。Ctripの対応には非常に満足しています。

The Hotel and Staff were fantastic. A special mention to Natalie and Chad who went above and beyond during a crisis over water. They kept everyone fully informed about what was going on. If I could give a 20 out of 10, I would!!!!! Would i stay here again...yes most definitely. The rooms were big, clean and tidy. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. Two single beds spaced together instead of a double bed as advertised. Apart from that everything was expected.
