I chose Sofitel Le Grand Ducal for a New Year’s stay, expecting a high level of comfort and service.
My experience started with some disappointment at check-in, including inconsistency in service and an initial room that felt cold and did not fully meet expectations. This was particularly noticeable on New Year’s Eve and affected my first impression.
However, after I shared my concerns, the hotel team handled the situation professionally and made a real effort to improve my stay. I was offered a room change to a warmer and higher-category room, along with a kind handwritten apology card and chocolates, which I truly appreciated.
What matters most to me is that the hotel listened and took action. Thanks to this, my overall impression changed for the better, and I was able to enjoy the rest of my stay.
I hope this feedback helps the hotel maintain a more consistent service experience from the very beginning for all guests.
A cot was so nicely arranged already in our room without any request, that was a nice touch and appreciated. The room is spacious, even with King sized bed + a baby cot there is still a lot of room. Spacious bathrooms. Appreciated the no single use plastic bottle in both bathrooms and in-room water.
Only wish was, there was charging next to the bed.

LlymaA cot was so nicely arranged already in our room without any request, that was a nice touch and appreciated.
