We, a group of 5 adults, stayed at Angsana Villas in a four-bedroom villa for 14 nights in March 2023. We really love the Cherng Talay/Bang Tao area of Phuket, have spent a great deal of time there over the years, and have friends in the area. We have also stayed at Angsana/Laguna previously, and loved it’s close proximity to so many restaurants, shopping and of course the beach, so we were keen to return. What can I say but wow, what an absolute disappointment. We waited so long to get back to our beloved Phuket and our stay here was not anything like we had hoped for. We have stayed in one of the villas previously, some 12 years ago, and had such a wonderful time that we wanted to repeat our experience. We booked a year prior to our visit, but in the last couple of weeks leading up to our stay we were told that the four-bedroom villas were no longer being rented out, that they would split us up into two x three-bedroom villas, and then suddenly there was a four-bedroom villa available. This disorganisation was just the start of it. We arrived late in the evening, all exhausted from a long day of travelling, were checked in, and ferried to the very outer reaches of the Laguna territory, into a quiet residential area where our villa was located. It was late when we arrived, but it was obvious that the villa had not been aired out or even properly cleaned before our arrival. It was musty-smelling and the shower in my room was so mouldy I showered with thongs (flip flops) on. The morning revealed the level of tiredness of the villa, with stained furniture, threadbare linens and towels, dirty walls needing paint, dirty curtains, and just a general feeling of being unmaintained. We were further disgusted to find broken glass all around and in the pool, rubbish around the garden and in the pool including plastic cups, food wrappings, chewing gum, and cigarette butts and tea bags flung into the gardens. It was really obvious that no one had inspected this villa prior to our arrival, which given the cost of our stay was really disappointing. But then the problems really began with air conditioning units breaking down constantly, and when they were working they dripped water down onto floors and walls, which was obviously a long-standing issue in the villa given the water staining marks around the majority of the outlets, and a potential health hazard. Breakfast was at Angsana so we had to contact the concierge desk to organise transport from the villa to the hotel. We were told that given we were the only rental villa that the shuttle would be immediately available to pick us up. This was not the case, with us regularly waiting 30-45 minutes to be collected. Likewise, when we wanted to return to the villa from Angsana. Just so much time wasted waiting around. We were also asked to request transport via WhatsApp, but this was rarely (if ever) read or answered so we would call to make requests. Strangely, as soon as we would call our Wh

More like Airbnb which happens to have access to the facilities at a hotel which is a 10 minute drive away. Breakfast is a 10 minute drive away, the pool is a 10 minute drive away, and sometime you wait 30 minutes minimum for pick up. The pictures show a pool and restaurant bit is misleading because not near villa.

We had a few issues with the first villa we were given. Helena went out of her way to move us and make sure everything was perfect. 5 star service…thanks for everything Helena! Would definitely recommend Angsana Villa Resort for a family stay
