I went with my family and had lunch in this place. The place was well maintained and tidy. I inquired about the chalets they had and they were too cool. The food was nice and the staff was friendly. The customer service was excellent.can recommend for a person coming to kalpitiya.

We had 2 wonderful days at Ruwala Resort, set on a beautifully landscaped area by the scenic Kalpitiya lagoon . The Resident Manager Mr Tissa Perera is a very courteous and helpful person with many talents, who made sure our stay was comfortable. The Chef Wasantha turned out super delicious meals. The other staff Sanadali , Charuka,Champa,Kusum,Surin were always at hand to help. The stay is well worth at a 3-star level. Due to the rainy season, there were a lot of mosquitoes, and it is work taking the right precautions. Ben

Our group was very well attended, food was the best I had in Sri Lanka, rooms were spacious with a beautiful Netting around the bed as well as mosquito screens for the door to the terrace made for safe sleeping with the sea breeze nearby. I would 100% recommend this resort for anybody who loves to wake to a view of the ocean and a peaceful mangrove, delicious food and great service! Pool was clean and refreshing too.

What a fantastic place to stay. Cottages open to the ocean, dining area is all open to the breezes and was beside a very nice, warm pool. The food was not only amazing but the entire kitchen staff went out of their way to ensure we all had a great selection of regional dishes. The entire staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Will absolutely return on my next visit to Sri Lanka

If you're used to Hilton and luxury properties where unpersonal western hospitality is the forte - this isn't where you should go. But, if you're looking for a place with top notch hospitality, a truly caring crew to which each guest is VIP - don't hesitate. The rooms are huge, with balconies overlooking the water. I stayed in a room with an outdoor shower (meaning - shower is in the room but under a partially open roof) and it was majestic. Imagine showering and hearing the wind rusting around you, or looking up and seeing the sky full of stars. No wifi or tv in the room - you actually have to socialize or read a book. They created a co-working area for us in the dining room, and it was terrific. When I was i my room, I read a book and listened to my own music or just the sound of the waves outside. This isn't your everyday buffet/a la carte restaurant - the chef will explain each dish, hear what you like and will try to adapt it. You will taste local Sri Lankan dishes, Indian cooking - AMAZING. Each guest is treated like their very own personal house guest. Close drive to kite surfing beaches, with lots of room and ideas for other activities. The friendly dogs on site will always be happy to see you, and you might catch a squirl running along! I was truly sad to end my 3 night stay there. If you're arriving to the north of the island, make a stop there and leave your anxiety at the gate. It will be worth it!
