How to get around
Salalah is best explored by car. A 4x4 is ideal, especially to reach waterfalls, mountains, and countryside areas. Distances are easy, roads are good, but nature is everywhere — including animals on the road, especially at night and in fog.
Must-see attractions
What surprised me most is how green Salalah is, especially after the monsoon (Khareef) season. You have the sea, cliffs, mountains, waterfalls, and greenery all in one area. Seeing camels grazing on trees — along with cows and sheep — felt unreal, like a small piece of paradise.
Hotel guide
We stayed in a four-star hotel " Belad Bobd Resort" nothing special, but comfortable. What truly made the experience exceptional was not the hotel, but meeting locals and being welcomed into an Omani family. Hospitality here is genuine, warm, and effortless.
Food guide
Fish curry in Salalah is a must. Light, fragrant, coconut-based, with incredibly soft fish — one of the best I’ve ever had. I also tasted camel milk and camel meat during a late-night barbecue in the mountains. The meat was surprisingly tender and delicious. Food here is simple, generous, and memorable.

Shopping guide
Salalah is known for its natural products. Don’t miss coconut oil, locally produced and widely avai#louban lable. Frankincense (luban), world-famous and deeply rooted #Salalah in Omani culture, is everywhere. Omani sweets are also worth bringing back as gifts. Along the roads, you’ll find stalls selling fresh coconuts and many varieties of bananas — simple, natural, and refreshing.
