ホテル シャムロック ベンディゴ(The Hotel Shamrock)

It’s an old hotel with a lot of character and charm. The reception staff were pleasant and helpful. The room I was given is in need of refurbishment. There were stains on the carpet that no amount of cleaning will remove. The armchair had grubby upholstery and there was no coffee table on which to place a cup or glass (I had to use an upturned waste paper basket). The drapes were hanging off their hooks. To my surprise no cleaning service was provided on the second day of my stay. Nevertheless I enjoyed the room and the hotel itself. But improvements would be welcome.

Loved the location & the heritage features of The Shamrock. The mattress on our bed was old & needs replacing. The mattress edges are flattened & have not stood up to usage. We noticed food crumbs & long hairs over the upholstery of the wing chairs & couch left by previous customers. Everything else, from the bed linen, to the towels, to the staff was exemplary. The young lady who checked us in was lovely, knowledgeable & efficient at her job. We would happily stay again.

Staff were friendly and informative. They had plenty of ideas for what to do and see. Room was bigger than i anticipated and was very clean.

We had excellent service form reception, we also liked the location - close to restaurants and gardens.

We couldn’t fault the customer service, friendliness, rooms and meals we had at the Shamrock Hotel. A lovely old building. So glad we booked here instead of a sterile hotel room.

Love the old-world charm of the Shamrock and hope maintenance and restoration can ultimately be completed. Had a really great spag carbonara in the dining room. All facilities were working and reception was very helpful. It was quite a warm night but the aircon was too noisy to leave running - reported to maintenance. Only one electric vehicle charging station working. All-in-all a very pleasant stay.

Old time grandeur and history. Well furnished in the Spa Suite- Dame Nellie Melba. Large and comfortable room overlooking original Bendigo Post Office. Great location in centre of town on tram route. Pub meals were good.

Loved the old world aesthetics of hotel, though badly in need of TLC. Dining room cute and inviting. Cleanliness of room was inconsistent. Bathroom needed a better clean (cob webs, wall tiles had dust/film on them, floor stained from wine??, makeup smeared around door architraves). Bed very comfortable and clean. Room was comfortable.

Property was in a great position and a lovely old style hotel.Check in staff were very helpful and couldn’t say a bad word about them The hotel room needed some tender loving care the carpet was very badly stained the cabinet with the fridge inside wouldn’t close and was missing a handle and the toilet looked very old as the water at the bottom looked dirty This hotel has so much potential I would definitely stay again even with the comments just needs a bit of a tidy up
