We have stayed at the Park Place several times over the past few years, but we were very disappointed with our last stay. The hotel was not very busy, but there are no staff on the premises between 9p.m. and noon the following day. We were given someone's number we could call if there was a problem, but if there had been a fire, plumbing problem, late night noise issue etc. I feel there should be SOMEBODY on site to deal with it. When we went to leave for breakfast in the morning, we couldn't get out of the front doors, which was a very uncomfortable situation. A staff member later showed us how to jiggle the handle a certain way to make it work, but we were not the only guests who were unable to exit so it's not obvious. Again, if there was a fire you wouldn't want to be standing there trying to figure out the right "jiggle" to get out. Minor maintenance is not been done (drawers that don't work, room door that scrapes the floor every time you open or close it, etc.) which speaks to ownership that has lost interest in the property. Staff are pleasant and as helpful as they can be given the above. We will be staying elsewhere on future trips to Jasper.
