Hip and cool hotel that will be a draw for young adults and kids (my kids loved the cozy bunk beds). Location is close to most restaurants in the old town and is very convenient. Check-in is self-service, and while I didn’t have any issues, I saw a couple of other guests having some problems. But they managed to resolve the issues with a simple phone call. So highly recommend to check your emails reservations beforehand to ensure smoother check-ins.
This hotel is very impressive. The view across the lake to Mt. Pilatus was spectacular. The hotel staff were so welcoming and hospitable...making our stay such an enjoyable experience. The room was spacious, bed comfortable and bathroom huge. Breakfast was an enormous buffet as well as ”a la cart”... Walking was very convenient and major railway easy to get to on foot and easy to navigate. The lake, Mt. Pilatus, the cog railway to and from and the trip to Zermatt easy to navigate. A side trip to Appenzelle with friends was a dream.
Very nice hotel just across the street from the Vierwaldstatter see(Lake Lucerne) Pros: Great staff easy check in Great views from lake facing rooms, easy parking. Ok value for the area, comfortable bed. Cons: There was construction going on at the time of our stay. The rooms have no A//C, not a deal breaker but the room was sealed up tight and that first blast of stifling heat when we opened the door was unexpected. But they do give have a large fan unfortunately the cord would not allow the fan to be placed in the terrace door to help cool off the room. The breakfast buffet selection was plentiful but the cooked foods were merely OK at best.
An excellent opportunity to let your hair down. The place has a beautiful view. There are hiking trails to several places including Mount Pilatus in the neighbourhood. Loved the breakfast. It was par extraordinare! A must do offbeat location despite being a little far from Lucerne
ゲゲストQuite a walk from the train station. Recommend to take the bus if you have the Swiss Travel Pass. Take the number 4 from the Bahnhof, gets off right after crossed the bridge at Brunigstrasse.
The first day I am only with 2 people so stayed in a triple room. The Shower room is directly open up to the bedroom with only frosted glass and no curtain. And sink is IN the bedroom so would have no place to change cloths. I guess it makes sense for any couple but kindly of odd for triple.
The second day a friend joined so we move to a family room with a proper washroom which is much more ”family friendly”
The hotel serve breakfast at a very low and nice price (in Swiss terms). Get hot water free at the lobby but no boiler in the room.
For the best it provides microwave oven, so can get food from nearby Denner if you are on a budget. Be sure to get in line early cause there will be people lining up at around 6.
We stayed at Galaxy Apartment - or I should say one of the Galaxy apartments for a couple of days. With three people, the falt was a little bit packed to be honest. The bathroom is very small. One of the things which disturbed me the most was the noise at night. People seem to come and go whenever they like and make a lot of noise (scream/shout) in the stairway. I don't like to be woken up at 2am during my vacation. While having TV is not that important, let's note that it was totally impossible to watch any program for more than 5 minutes, because the connection would break down. Additionally, the recent heatwave makes the flat quite hot and stuffy. We had to leave windows open during the night. That was probably for the best because trying to close the shutters was yielding such a noise. I thought they would break. Fortunately, the street was very quiet. Finally, they should provide more information regarding the parking. I think this is quite the minimum. We were really struggling to understand how to get the daily ticket.
