We arrived here late at night after being booked in by another motel. The room appeared ok on first glance, the bathroom was clean, but once we moved in we found that unfortunately nothing else was. The floor looked like it hadn't been vacumned in weeks, the bed had hair on the sheets, the side cabinet and clock was covered in dust and the tray that held the glasses was full of dirt and dust. We didn't use the glasses! The owner was friendly and showed us where to get breakfast in the morning, that was great, plenty of ingredients to choose from, although once again the cleanliness let it down. Just because this motel is mostly used by groups of men working away from home, doesn't mean the owners should let their standards drop. This is an older motel and the price reflects this, and if it was clean there wouldn't be any problem with it. Unfortunatly, we will not be back.

This motel was one of the best that we have stayed in. We arrived about 11AM (check-in is 2PM) and asked receptionist Margaret if it was possible to leave our bags there and have a key. Otherwise, we would not be able to check in till about 7PM. She happily put us in unit 11 which has a larger than normal ensuite a good size room. It included a Queen bed and a King Single bed. If it was my motel, I’d have just a Single bed rather than a King Single in the room so there would be a tad more room to allow an extra chair. You basically need to be lying in bed to watch the TV which looked like it was about a generous 47” size. The only real negative we found was the excessive brightness of the overhead lights and particularly the bedhead lights. This motel has a separate and very well equipped self service breakfast room with a BBQ area at its rear, all part of the tariff. There were ten different options of breakfast cereals, eggs and nicely lean bacon in the fridge. If you are one who likes a big breakfast and has the time to prepare it, a full breakfast would probably cost you over $30 in a local cafe. The motel is only about 60 mts from the Black Forest Way, but not much traffic uses it at night and we were not conscious of any noise once in our room. The photo that comes up on-line appears to be from the balcony of the Royal Hotel in Daylesford, not the Black Forest Motel.

Neat and clean rooms with very good bathrooms and great hot water. There’s a well equipped communal kitchen with all supplies needed to make your own breakfast. BBQ facilities are adjacent to the kitchen. Plenty of parking. The location is a little out-of-town but there’s no traffic noise.

Our car broke down and roadside assist dropped us here as it was the closest motel. The place is thoughtfully laid out with well equipped rooms and a well stocked kitchen area. Everything was pristine - the owners obviously take great pride in the place. And they were so kind! It was late and raining and we had our two little kids with us. So the owner donned a Santa hat and delivered us some fruit and veg for us to make dinner and some lamb he’d just cooked on the BBQ! We were blown away.

Extremely generous breakfast. Super clean motel room and community kitchen. Fr i endly staff . Pet friendly ,our little dog loved it too. Great l o cation as so much to see in the surrounding areas with a 10 minute drive. Definitely will return.

Room was great, bathroom recently update was terrific. Had lower expectations as it was on the main road but not a problem. Tea/coffee in room but were pleasantly surprised by the fully stocked breakfast room!!

We went straight to a local event so didn’t get room key during the day. When we rang the after hours number several times ther3 was no answer and had to find other accomodation. John the owner laughed at us the next day when we asked for a refund. No way he said. Very arrogant
