マドリードのスパ付きホテル

As a Marriott Titanium / Lifetime Platinum Elite Guest, our family [husband, wife and two young daughters] decided to visit Madrid, Spain to start our month-long 2023 summer vacation in Europe. We spent five (5) nights at Westin Palace Madrid using our Bonvoy points in late May / early June 2023. Please see the thirty-eight (38) photos we posted with this review of all aspects of the hotel. Within days after making our five (5) night stay using Marriott Bonvoy points approximately ten (10) months prior to our arrival date, we emailed General Manager, Pablo Flores and advised him of our future stay as well as our special requests, including our request for an Executive Suite, which would comfortably host our family of four. Within hours of our email, we received a thoughtful reply Paloma Hidalgo, Director of Rooms, whom immediately provided us with a complimentary guaranteed upgrade to an Executive Suite and further, Ms. Hidalgo readily granted all of our other special requests. The prompt response did not come as a surprise to us given how active the management of this property is in reading and promptly replying to past guests on Trip Advisor as well as the Marriott Bonvoy website, which is but a mere sign of management’s commitment to exemplary customer service. Not surprisingly, we were overjoyed with such a response and really looked forward to our future stay at The Westin Palace Madrid. This gorgeous historic hotel is magnificently located in Madrid overlooking the Neptune Fountain and less than a three minute walk to the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, less than a five minute walk to the Prado Museum and less than a ten minute walk to the Reina Sofia Museum. It is also extremely close to Retiro Park and is within an easy 15 minute walk to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the Gran Via as well as many bars, restaurant, trendy cafés, market and other cultural attractions. You can easily walk everywhere throughout the entire city but public transportation options abound in close proximity to the hotel as well. Our initial visit to the Westin Palace Madrid did not disappoint, especially when the hotel accommodated our extremely early check-in (before 9:00 am). The check-in process with Ms. Hidalgo, Estefanía Martinez, Front Office Assistant Manager and Juan at the reception desk was a breeze. Further, Ms. Martinez was kind enough to personally escort us to our suite and show us all of the features and amenities of same. This was very thoughtful on the part of Ms. Martinez and very much appreciated. Throughout our entire five (5) night stay, Ms. Hidalgo and Ms. Martinez were especially helpful and friendly. We simply loved our Palace Executive Suite with slightly over 1,000 square feet in total space with a sublime view of the Neptune Fountain; it was truly remarkable. 予約したデラックスルームは窓の外にスペイン広場に面しており、セルバンテス記念碑（写真1）が見え、眺望はまずまずです。部屋には26インチのスーツケースを2つ置くと十分なスペースがあり、装飾スタイルはモダンで少し冷たい感じで、私たちの好みです。ホテルは気を利かせて小さなデザートを送ってくれました。妻は、それは典型的なヨーロッパの甘い味だと言っていました。彼女が若い頃にイギリスに留学していたときに食べたデザートと同じ味でしたが、私には大丈夫でした。お部屋には原則金庫が備え付けられており、貴重品の保管に便利です。バスルームは洗面台と鏡に面しており、カウンターはそれほど大きくありませんが、美容専門家がさまざまなアイテムを置くには少し混雑しています。トイレルームは右側にガラスドアがあり、左側にシャワールームがあります。シンクの近くにあるスタンディングシャワーですが、ガラスの仕切りは半分しかありませんが、シャワーを浴びると、間違いなくシンクエリアの床が濡れます。中には浴槽があり、シャワーを浴びるときは浴槽の横に足を置く必要があります。唯一の欠点は、部屋がとてもよかったということ以外です。ホテルの朝食は、スパニッシュハム、スモークサーモン、オムレツが選べて、デザートもフルーツも最高です。図 2 に示すように、私も妻も大好きなベイクド ビーンズもあります (この旅行で朝食にベイクド ビーンズがある唯一のホテルでもあります)。ホテルのロビーを出て右に曲がると、南北に広がるグランドヴィアが見えます。ホテルの斜め向かいに北東にあるのでショッピングにも便利です。階下にはMangoとZARAがあり、価格も品揃えも豊富です。ホテルからはマドリードの王宮、プエルタ・デル・ソル、マヨール広場を訪れるのにとても便利です。階下のボタニアレストランの落とし穴を避けるための注意点 装飾スタイルは良いですが、外国人観光客に対するレストランの態度は非常に平均的です。 初日は、食事をしやすくするために、妻と私はそこに置かれました。人は多くなかったが、壁に面した暗い隅にある。地元の人は店に入るときにいつも良い席を与えられる。会計も遅れた。クレジットカードの機械を手に入れる10分前、さらに重要なことに、食べ物は美味しくなく、7分レアのステーキはよくできていて、肉は薄く、サングリアはサッカリンが多すぎました。ミートボールが食べ終わる前にウェイターが皿を取り去ってくれたので、とても礼儀正しいと感じました。 食事が終わった後の請求額は 100 ユーロ近くでした。 これはこの旅行中最も高価で最も美味しくなかった食事でした (写真 3)。 ）。翌日の夕食は隣の別のタパスパーナでした。シーフードライスは量が多くて十分でした。元々はステーキペッパーでしたが、ペッパーを丸ごと入れました。ビールと一緒にとても美味しかったです（図4、5）。その後の移動はセルフドライブなので、事前にレンタカーでSIXTレンタカーを予約しました。場所はホテルを出て北に道路を渡って3分です。リトルスペイン広場の緑豊かな駐車場の入り口にあり、とても便利です。全体として、VP ホテルはとても素晴らしく、便利な場所にあるので、もう一度体験する価値があります。

とてもフレンドリーなレセプションスタッフがいるとても良いホテル。部屋は清潔でよく整理されていました。冷蔵庫にはミニバーがありましたが、やかんが好きだったでしょう。敷地内にレストランがありますが、私たちはそれを使用しませんでした。空港に戻るために使用した無料の空港シャトルがあります。しかし、私たちは午前10時に到着し、シャトルは12:00まで利用できないと言われたので、25ユーロのタクシーを乗らなければなりませんでした。

Ruthlessly efficient, a touch underwhelming. Restaurant staff were excellent, friendly and helpful in very busy circumstances. The hotel shares its facilities (except the check in desk) with its neighbouring hotel. For example the (tiny) bar, restaurant and gym are next door. The spa however is in this one as is the breakfast room. Vending machines are outside. Rooms are very clean, but absolute bare minimum is given. Two paper cups, two teabags and a sliver of coffee. Bathroom, the world’s smallest soap bar and some gel in a dispenser. Noise also travelled through the hotel so I was woken up by movements in the next door room. In the common areas there was an overwhelming scent of air freshener that was oppressive, it needs to be toned down.
