Great location in the centre of town. Friendly staff. Absolutely amazing breakfast.

One night stay. Very comfortable bed, friendly, helpful staff, nothing was a trouble and our evening meal was lovely. Thanks for a pleasant evening.

Tired, 'could be better' but overall very good value at the price. Comfortable hotel in centre of Melrose with large, free car park and everything in walking distance. Everything spotlessly clean, towels and tea / coffee renewed daily. Warm, comfortable room, comfortable bed in quiet location - the 'new' (more accurately 'less old' wing at rear of hotel. Friendly staff in bar, sadly only 5 customers there Friday night and 1 on Saturday! Breakfast was plentiful - fresh fruit, cereal, unlimited tea & coffee and full Scottish breakfast. Sadly this was quite cold on both mornings, and service very slow. But overall good value

Hotel is a bit tired but the staff were very friendly and the food better than expected and cheap to boot.

Overall I thought the hitel was a bit tired and in need of painting, both inside and out. I appreciate its main custom comes from fishermen, so it has to put up with wear and tear. I did enjoy my visit and was well looked after in the bar, where I enjoyed a Rugby World Cup match. I think breakfat may have been cooked in advance the microwaved, as many items were tough. A pity as it was a great selection on the cooked option. I did hear some others, that had been there a few nights, making the same comments.

Lovely old building in dire need of refurbishment. Some lights not working mould in bathroom. Beds very clean and comfortable

Very disappointing the whole place looks and feels very tired. Definitely in need of an urgent makeover. Broken tiilet door, light above mirror not working, holes in the wall from hooks pulled out and not put back. Couldn't open bedroom window as sash pulley broken, had to plug draughts coming through window pane with toilet paper. There was no WiFi in the room and mattress not overly comfortable. Would not stay again and not currently recommend
